Re: How good is Beterbiev

I think he's very good, let's just hope that none of his supporters are critical of Spence.
Stopping Prieto in 1 and being the first to stop Cloud is impressive. Anyone who doesn't know Prieto should stop posting here. Prieto gave Alvarez, #1 contender for Stevenson's title, a tough fight.Tanzio wrote:victor-romeo wrote:He is 32 years old, and his career for what ever reason injury, boxing politics whatever has not taken off at all. It is often brought up that he beat Kovalev in the amateurs and is way better than Kovalev. That may be true but Kovalev has already had a great pro career with multiple memorable fights against Pascal, Hopkins, and Ward. Meanwhile Beterbiev next fight is against Isidro Ranoni Prieto a fighter I have never heard of.
I hope Beterbiev does have a great pro career against great opponents, but this hasn't happened yet and at 32 the clock is ticking.![]()
Beterbiev has proven nothing.
Fvck you and your hall monitor status. I don't give two squirts that Beterbiev knocked out a guy who gave the guy who is a retired guy's bridesmaid a fight. Beterbiev is loooong overdue. He is nothing but potential at the moment. Cloud, ffs? That was like ktfo a broken weeble wobble.Mexi-Box wrote:Stopping Prieto in 1 and being the first to stop Cloud is impressive. He KtFO Cloud in like his 5th pro fight (IIRC). I'm hall monitor because it seems I have to clean up this forum as there are tons of people who know lick about the sport and are opinionated.Tanzio wrote:Fvck you and your hall monitor status. I think that Beterbiev can accomplish some significant things. There is significant distant between can do and done.
How can you say he has proven nothing? That's beyond dumb. A guy that KtFO 2 former world champions and beat a very game fighter in Prieto is very much something. And lol at following BoxRec ratings like they matter. Prieto is a very good fighter, and Beterbiev stopping him in 1 is a statement that he's very much a proven fighter.Tanzio wrote:. . . and I do recognize that Beterbiev has only had 10 fights. Relative to that number of professional fights he has accomplished plenty. Not as much as Lomassiah but plenty.
But we are talking world level professional accomplishment that many conclude is a given for him. It is not. That is not specifically his fault and I am not suggesting that he should immediately go from fighting 40 something rated boxers to challenging Krusher in his 12th fight. I am saying that he has proven nothing at top level yet. Maybe his team feels he is not quite ready yet. I respect that.
What does ktfo a fighter who had been thoroughly exposed and was cashing out for pocket change have to do with top level accomplishment?Mexi-Box wrote:He KtFO Cloud in like his 5th pro fight (IIRC). Wtf are you talking about? I have no idea what the boxrec rankings are, school marm. I do know approximately where the comp that Beterbiev has fought reside in general.Mexi-Box wrote:How can you say he has proven nothing? That's beyond dumb. You obviously need to find a new hobby because you don't know anything about boxing at all other than trashing world-class fighters because you know BoxRec's garbage ratings.Tanzio wrote:What does ktfo a fighter who had been thoroughly exposed and was cashing out for pocket change have to do with top level accomplishment?Mexi-Box wrote:He KtFO Cloud in like his 5th pro fight (IIRC). You are a b!tch who thinks way too much of herself.
Beterbiev has accomplished zip until he does so against relevant competition. What happens if the next no hoper plants him?
Spence is in a similar position more than 10 fights later, with the exception that he has fought a bit better competition and he is now testing himself at the very top level. He could end up getting Lacied by Brook and become an overnight gatekeeper.
Again with the boxrec rankings bvllsh!t?Mexi-Box wrote:You obviously need to find a new hobby because you don't know anything about boxing at all other than trashing world-class fighters because you know BoxRec's garbage ratings.Tanzio wrote:What does ktfo a fighter who had been thoroughly exposed and was cashing out for pocket change have to do with top level accomplishment?Mexi-Box wrote: He KtFO Cloud in like his 5th pro fight (IIRC). If you really look at everyone under a microscope, no one is proven. It's just so dumb to approach every fighter with such an idiotic level of skepticism.
You can't form a valid argument other than throwing childish insults and BoxRec ratings.Tanzio wrote:Again with the boxrec rankings bvllsh!t?Mexi-Box wrote:You obviously need to find a new hobby because you don't know anything about boxing at all other than trashing world-class fighters because you know BoxRec's garbage ratings.Tanzio wrote: What does ktfo a fighter who had been thoroughly exposed and was cashing out for pocket change have to do with top level accomplishment?

No, you are wrong and you are a b!tch. There are plenty of boxers who are proven at world level. Beterbiev is not yet one of those boxers. He will likely prove himself in the future but he has not earned his place yet.
Childish insults? Ownly an adolescent would consider herself to have the only valid opinion on a board that contains nothing but subjective perspective.Mexi-Box wrote:You can't form a valid argument other than throwing childish insults and BoxRec ratings.Tanzio wrote:Again with the boxrec rankings bvllsh!t?Mexi-Box wrote: You obviously need to find a new hobby because you don't know anything about boxing at all other than trashing world-class fighters because you know BoxRec's garbage ratings.

That's the way Tanzio argues his point bud. Just a bunch of silly insults but I happen to agree with his point here and it Pisssssed me off.Mexi-Box wrote:You can't form a valid argument other than throwing childish insults and BoxRec ratings.Tanzio wrote:Again with the boxrec rankings bvllsh!t?Mexi-Box wrote: You obviously need to find a new hobby because you don't know anything about boxing at all other than trashing world-class fighters because you know BoxRec's garbage ratings.

If Beterbiev lands, Kova is going down. The question is if Kovalev lets him land.Roars Like Me wrote:Is there any channce he may be over rated ..just a little? Bearing in mind that not too long ago and probably even now post the Ward fight, Kovalev is considered the best out there? And certainly not seen as someone that gets knocked out by anybody, even by the 'mighty' Beterbiev?
Has Kov ever shown to have an issue with his chin, the opposite I would have thought no?boxing_rocks wrote:If Beterbiev lands, Kova is going down.
