I agree it's a bold gesture, whether it's a wise one we won't know until the details are revealed.
I think on balance it's unlikely to prove a wise move

Having watched that interview, CEJ's excuses for ducking GGG and Saunders (not to mention Jacobs) do not convince me at all.

Eubank was the attraction not his opponents the fans went to see him it didnt matter who he was fighting, fans pay for tickets which means money and lots of it, Its prize fighting ffs, people seem to get mixed up with some rose tinted view of the sport and forget what its really about?
True but it still doesn't disguise the fact that Senior wanted no part of numerous world level fighters.
Jr will go the same way from the looks of things.
Benn x2
Watson x2
Collins x2
Thompson x2?
Need I go on?

Calzaghe as well. That said he dodged all the good quality Yanks. He never fought the true top guy in his division

Oh yea forgot about Calzaghe but there was no need to fight the yanks, he earnt more money with the Brits/Irish. Nobody really knows how he would have got on with them either as Eubank could comeback from anything that was coming to him. Not one yank fighter showed us that they could have done this type of thing when the going got tough?

The Watson fights were great but Watson wasn't world level. His fight with Mike McCallum fight shown what world level was.
When he fought Benn the first time Watson and Herol Graham were still considered better fighters.
Eubank publically said he would never fight Herol Graham ( who McCallum also beat)
Also Barry Hearn came up with excuses about not fighting Mike McCallum ( no money etc etc ) just like Eddie Hearn did with Quigg and Rigo when the fight could be made and does with numerous fighters.
When he was champion he also would not fight Nunn because he was southpaw and 6 foot 2.
Other fighters around when he was champion. Toney, Jones, Jackson, kalambay, McClellan.
He played the game well made a lot of money not fighting top fighters fair play to him he won't be the last to do that.
But junior has now ducked fights with Billy Joe Saunders again when it made sense
Last year. GGG and Hearn got him mandatory for Danny Jacobs.

It's going to bomb spectacularly. There's a really interesting interview with Eddie on iFL released yesterday where he talks in depth about this (can't link it on my mobile due to the stupid YouTube app). Seems like the tickets haven't even gone on sale yet or the PPV price announced and it's only 4 weeks away! He absolutely rips Eubank Sr apart as well, it's worth a watch just for that.

£20 is the price for this event. An outrageous price.
Apparently there will be an early bird offer. Jeez!

I just saw the £20 ppv tweets - absolutely ludicrous, the only thing I can think is they've lost the concept of the value of money. This is going to be disastrous for Eubank JRs career and boxing on ITV if it's true.
This will be lucky to do 5 figures in terms of buys at that price and I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being cancelled. If that happens team Eubank will have no choice but to go cap in hand to BN or matchroom with very little bargaining power.
Setting themselves up for humiliation if this is true.
Of course it could just be a way of building publicity???? Maybe?????

I don't even think it's been confirmed has it? I saw a venue and date named but that appears to have vanished and the fight is meant to be on next month.
Seems a terrible time to test the water with a new PPV platform. Wlad Joshua will be massive and like the fight or not Haye Bellew will sell. Who is going to cough up more to see Eubank Jr in a nothing fight?

"Into prospective" ffs
And this clown wants to negotiate deals with hard nosed businessmen.
Does he even realise his whole fake persona just makes him a laughing stock ?

It doesn't seem to be building
any publicity though. Outside of very boxing-specific media I've not seen anything mentioned about this fight or Eubank himself for ages. There was a fair bit of talk pre-Golovkin, but when that didn't happen he might as well have fallen off the face of the earth.

Same here
It's still not listed on this site. Has there actually been an official announcement of a date and venue with a presser ? You would expect eubank to tweet that out at least.
Tickets not on sale either also just a couple of weeks ago quinlan on Twitter said it was feb 4th that's not long to go.

£20?
No official announcement supposedly five weeks out?
No undercard? Little prospect of any names on it?
Meaningless title dressed up to f##k?
Novice opponent with one noteworthy win against a very faded ex-champ?
ITV are going to get burned here
