I get the impression Eubank has become a bit money-mad after his bankruptcy. That's understandable, but I remember about ten years back, pre-Youtube, and there being some controversy about him effectively selling online videos of the Watson fight on his own website. In fairness to him, when asked on Radio Five why he would do it he was pretty up front about his financial problems. It was the one big event of his career that had largely been erased and he saw it as a way to make money.

Not sure what sort of situation he's in now but he never seemed the brightest with money. Imagine Junior in a proper eliminator or even world title fight as main support on the undercard of Joshua Wlad at Wembley. That could genuinely work, and I don't see why Hearn wouldn't want it to work. Junior's exciting, a big puncher, looks the part, has a ready-made domestic rival, he's got a massive, massive name for domestic boxing and to be fair, having Eubank himself knocking about should be great for business. But it's almost career-sabotage at the minute.

They had a good relationship, and earned each other a lot of money, if he did ask for £250 then he's a dosser. He's mental, anyway in my eyes. He made Matchroom? Ok, Chris... You must have missed the snooker in your youth or darts... Barry made him!

Whatever happened it's a shame because Hearn Sr and Eubank Sr were the first to keep world titles in Britain for a sustained period of time, title defenses in double digits, and two very big rivalries. Eubank didn't make Matchroom but surely he was their biggest ever success in boxing. What fights would Barry be known for putting on without Chris? Would he have been connected enough with the WBO to make fights like Herbie Hide v Michael Bentt? (Would Eddie even be doing what he's doing now if not for his dad's success in starting Prize Fighter?)

We know about Eubank Sr's ego, narcissism (just look at his corner work), greed, OCD and strangeness. And his interfering in his son's boxing career, like so many dads do. Especially when all the fame comes from the father.

he's a character, someone else pointed out that Stephen Hawkins IQ is only 160, and 190 would make him in the top 10 all time highest IQ's recorded.
