One thing that makes me chuckle is before I discovered boxing forums I really thought I knew my boxing. I mean really knew it. Got Boxing News every week (never occured to me a few thousand others did the same I guess), BM every month, the Ring, KO, ordered videos....

I knew there were obviously a few historians out and about in the country but generally I thought my boxing knowledge was way up there.

And then you find a resource like this one and realise you actually know fornicate all

A good lesson in life there :TU:

Thats too right, I have been lucky stumled across a damn fine general forum nearly 4 years ago and now this one. I get the best from both domestic and world scene info.

As you said, I to thought I knew my boxing untill I started posting, my very first post on the general scene sight was entitled "Hopes and predictions for 2001" and what I wanted to see was "for Danny Williams to step up the competition because he is world class" man, did I get rediculed by two excellent British posters on that site, when Samil Sam beat him I took some stick, now of couse my post doesn't seem too bad.

We have had some gems of threads aswell.

"The Guess who" thread with Myself, James Wilson, Dale and Extremebox was a classic.

Boxers with crap hair thread was another all time classic.

Boxing lookalikes.

And of course, the which poster looks like Carlos Monzon thread.

Yes, pats on the backs all round. 8)
The "Reject's Forum' no more. (I won't explain, but lots of you will know what that means).

I think the main reason for the success is Captain Shep's leadership, a core of knowledgable users and some sensible moderation. Bad moderation killed other forums so will done to those patrol these boards.
The non-intrusive moderation style allow sensible discussion to take place where every opinion can be voiced without risk of being banned.

Hopefully Hennessy will get him on the Karmazin versus Walker 'Mission Impossible' bill at the Ally Pally in October. He looks to be one of our better prospects, but I stress the word PROSPECT. It's too soon to be talking about the British title for him as some are, despite the mediocrity shown by Matthew Barney as champ. Barney's first challenger is to be David Starie (as mandated by the Board recently) and there's no way I'd fancy Froch to beat Starie at this stage.
Lol, even on the very first thread Bennie is talking business :D A true pro :TU:
