With the shaved head Etches reminds me of Jurgen Braehmer

Etches looking quite soft on the scales I thought.

Ryder looks like a ripped SMV, Etches doesn't.

I agree with the earlier poster that Ryder is better than he's shown. Maybe he'll be a 'gym-fighter' that never really produces, but I (slightly) favoured him already and this pic makes my mind up - money on "The Gorilla"

I think etches has a good chance of timing ryder with one. Either that or ryder overwhelms him

Etches shown plenty of heart tonight and kept going but its a good learning fight

etches looks finished to me, he took way too many head shots tonight and with no head movement he cant go on like that. his limitations have been well and truly exposed. good ride while it lasted.

He's only had 2 hard fights and he's young enough.I agree about getting hit too much his hands are low no head movement at all

Yeah his or was a big ticket seller. Has been matched very carefully in his career.

I had Ryder winning easy but ITV had it close / draw. Did anyone else see it this way ? . I thought Ryder won every round.

Did seem to take a bit of a beating last night that eye looked pretty bad hope he doesn't get long term damage from that.

I didn't see last night but I have followed his career result wise.

I was a bit disappointed in Etches last night, I thought this fight would've been more competitive but Ryder won it at a canter, still it was probably the best fight on the card

I thought he won very wide. Woodhall's reading of the fight was way off. He had it level going into the 12th, I thought Etches needed a KO from around the 8th onwards.

I didn't score properly but just watching normal I could see Ryder clearly won the first 5 and then some. Woodhall's card having Etches up in the last round gave me palpitations.

Good win for Ryder, when his is in full flow he is very good to watch, but he switches off a bit too often. He should look at challenging for the British at supermiddle next.

Etches tried to box too much and came second best in every department, he is clearly tough but trying to mimic the ingle style doesn't suit him at all, particularly with such a leaky defence. Woodhall gave him far too much credit for flicking out inaccurate jabs. Hopefully he doesn't go back to knocking over journeymen, at this stage of his career he needs good, meaningful fights.

he needs a few journeymen and then a big cash out. he's as tough as they come but he's got to a level where he cant bang people out and he isnt smart enough to outbox them. that's a dangerous combination for someone with as much heart as etches.

You might be right, maybe he will never improve.

I did get a bit worried when I saw him seemingly ignoring Ingle's good advice during the fight.
'Don't load up so much, tap up top with the jab, then go to the body' Ingle said, Etches proceeds to throw a heavy combination up top, misses every punch then gets countered with a sharp combination from which he didn't recover until the start of the next round.
