You're a moron.

Wrong.

$25 mill isn't what Mayweather normally makes. I think he'll turn it down.

If this boxing match went ahead. It would be weird to see Mayweather massively odds on for a KO win. It'll be the first fight since 1998 that he'll win by KO within 3 rounds.

Floyd's done everyone, wrap it up. There's not a matchup available to justify paying him 100m, his minimum to return to the ring. GGG? Maybe. Canelo? Maybe. Conor? Maybe. That's all he has to choose from and none of those will happen. Move on.
The 3 highest selling combat sports PPV's of all time all featured Floyd Mayweather. The Berto sales are irrelevant.

Seems like they're building up this whatshisname McGregor guy.
Read a bit about him but strikes me as a 1 off type of thing if it happens.
Way I see Floyd is he's retired and is a U.S boxing ambassador so to speak, I don't hardly watch MMA so I have no idea if this guy is supposed to be hard.
From what I can gather it looks like a money grab over hyped or something, when I first heard about it I thought of Ali facing that karate guy who spent most of the fight on the floor back in the day.
Not sure if Floyd will bow to the almighty dollar but this looks wank if you ask me.

McGregor is the biggest current star in MMA. So yeah he's supposed to be hard.

The UFC literally owns Conor. A UFC fighter can't even compete in another sport without their blessing.

Inoki was a wrestler and the only reason he fought like that is when Ali's team learned it wasn't going to be a work they made a heap of rules that would stop him wrestling Ali.
The 'fight' is actually heavily covered in a book I read about the history of MMA because it was in a way the first time something similar to MMA went mainstream.

Try and square this with a person like me ...
I just saw Kovalev v Ward live and backed it up with Lomachenko v Nicholas "The Mannequin Challenge"Walters.
My P4P Top 10 doesn't even include Lomachenko or even Terrence Crawford.
That's how high my standards are so it's highly unlikely I'm going to be sold on a retired boxer and a mma celebrity.

If your top 10 doesn't include Crawford and Lomachenko, then it's not a very good top 10.

The Berto sales are the ONLY thing that's relevant in this discussion. What are you talking about? The sales in that fight show you that the public was done paying to watch this dude fight. You think a guy should be paid according to what he did many years ago?
This is why Floyd is done with Boxing current boxers and picking out the top MMA star. He needs to put on some circus freak show to garner interest because boxing fans are done with him. Recent PPV sales > Career PPV Sales.

mayweather-mcgregor would most likely out perform the canelo fight.
so to offer mayweather $25 million is completely laughable. even $50 million would be iffy. but 25 is a non-offer. just a stunt to fool ignorant fans.
McGregor-Mayweather, as ridiculous as it would be, would be one of the highest selling PPV events in history. There would be a shit ton of boxing and MMA fans buying this event. I'm assuming the undercard would be quite interesting as well as long as Dana White is involved.

Dana made a stupid offer so it would get rejected and the morons around the world (UFC heads) would say Floyd is ducking or running. Floyd as a perfectionist he is would still have a full training camp and prepare himself as he always has even if it is against a boxer of very very limited ability. Hence he is should be paid what he wants. The UFC need this. There doesnt seem to be much direction with that company at the moment in regards to talent. I've just watched the showtime card with mainevent DeGale v Jack - boxing doesnt need this believe me. It's doing just fine.

25m and splitting the Ppv is a more than adequate offer for this fight. Comparing it to Canelo is ludicrous, Canelo had a chance. Mayweather is being offered a fortune for a sparring session.

Most MMA fans are pretty rational dudes. I don't think they will think Floyd is ducking.
However, being offered half the PPV is where I believe Floyd is messing up. The $25 mil is only a small portion of what he'd be making.
The UFC doesn't really need this. But, it would give them a pretty substantial boost. I'm sure Dana would take this opportunity to put on some exciting MMA matches as well. I could see Dana going the Bellator route like the event Bellator held where they had two separate rings set up for one event. It would be quite the circus.

So because you believe Mayweather would be the heavy favorite, Mayweather should give away tens of millions of dollars? What sense does that make?
Mayweather is the bigger star and the bigger draw. Proposing a 50/50 split is not a legitimate offer. It's just propaganda to brainwash foolish UFC fans and/or Mayweather haters.
Mayweather fighting a boxer of similar skill level as McGregor wouldn't even be a ppv fight let alone earn him anything close to that money.

And? What does that have to do with anything? Mayweather-McGregor would sell 2 million+ PPVs. Mayweather isn't supposed to make sure he gets his fair cut of the money because you think it's an easy fight? I just don't see the logic in it.
Mayweather is a business man. He's not going to return for anything less than a great deal. 50/50 is a HORRIBLE deal.
How is earning 25m plus his cut of the ppv a bad deal for this fight?
Mayweather isn't a business man, he's a fornicating boxer. Stop parroting that utter rubbish.

The new owners of the UFC spent 4 billion dollars to buy it. That is four times as much as the Dallas Cowboys are worth. They want to get a return on their investment as fast as possible and a Mayweather vs. McGregor fight would make much more money than if McGregor fought in MMA against anyone. An upcoming UFC show was cancelled. The UFC is also facing a lawsuit from the guy who lost to Brock Lesnar because of Lesnar's positive drug tests. Ronda Rousey's future is in doubt, although I think she will come back, but not against the top women initially.
