Lacy Calzaghe

Just sayin
Another good example, but Davis is 22, and a world champion already, so being absolutely schooled having already achieved what is usually a career long goal would be shocking for the guy and would definitely ruin the kid in some respects, it's just not a good move all round!
Davis is a much better fighter than Lacy ever was.. But he'll never fight Lomachenko -- that's a pipe dream.. Russell would beat any Featherweight in the world, but Selby, Cuellar, Mares, Santa Cruz, and Frampton won't fight him because they know that.. Russell only fought Lomachenko because Loma had 2 fights -- and little did he know what he was in for.. Anybody who fights Loma from here on knows what they're in for -- it took many months to make the Lomachenko-Walters fight. It's not like Floyd who fought whoever he wanted.

What are you going to do about it?? Nothing! I don't need to watch a guy fight that has a shockingly bad record to know that he's shite, you effing drip... Records don't lie. Anyone with any knowledge can look at Cervantes record and see that "it's heavily heavily padded" and " he's lost to some really bad fighters".. Go one stevie wonder have a look yourself.
You don't know anything about the fighters he lost to except looking at their records - lots of tough underrated unknown fighters out there - Cervantes was a boxing great and he's in Canastota YDKSAAC  Educate yourself about a ring legend - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonio_Cervantes

I know that when a so called "legend" gets beaten by a bum journey man after 30 fights, and then several other bums after 50 fights he's not a legend

Boxrec database doesn't have everyone's record. The guy probably had dozens more. Even if he didn't, I've watched Cervantes fight several times. You should try it. :TU:

It has the record of every single pro Cervantes has ever fought! If you can't see that his first 60 odd fights were walk overs then your blind. And he lost four or five of those.

I'll try it a little slower for you. Boxrec does not have everyone's complete record. Stick to current fighters if all you're going to do is look at records. Cruz marcano for instance, was very good. He tore Cervantes apart. Antonio established his greatness later on. So what?Anyway, I'm not going to waste too much time talking to an 'expert' that doesn't know dick.

Maybe not, but I've seen Cervantes fight and I know the records on here are far from gospel. In those regards, I'm well in the know. Take care, off to ignore with you.

Tevin Farmer keeps coming up as a "good match for Lomachenko." Tevin should NOT accept any invitation to fight Lomachenko, just yet. It would be a great fight. It might even be the most exciting matchup out there. But, Tevin should wait. The money won't be fair for Tevin. Tevin has been calling out Tank Davis. That's a wise choice by Tevin. Davis has real power, but terrible footwork. Tevin will make Davis look foolish, as he has with most of his opponents. Tevin is a smart, fan-friendly boxer/puncher. He'd be careful and win rounds. Once Davis is sufficiently frustrated and tired, Farmer would seriously get to work on Davis. --- Tevin Farmer vs Vasyl Lomachenko in November 2018 feels right. Tevin Farmer is an elite fighter. Once the boxing world is fully aware of Tevin's skills, he will get a deserved, high seven figure, pay-day against Lomo.

Lacy Calzaghe

Just sayin
Left Hook Lacy also had a rotator cuff injury that accounted for the bulk of the ruining. It was in the arm that he throws left hooks with. It occurred during the fight immediately after Calzaghe, and affected him between that fight and the rest of his career.

I saw the Cervantez-De Jesus fight.. It was a good fight and these guys could both box well, but it was the way they fought that I wasn't too excited about. Particularly De Jesus.. Too much motion.. Too many feints.. Too much bouncing.. Poor punch selection so there's a lot coming back at both of them.. And they're both absorbing too many punches.. Now, Duran lost a fight to De Jesus.. ED could really fight.. But Duran was a little smoother.. Duran took his time a little better.. He used his brain a little more like a Mayweather.. He learned more about De Jesus from every encounter they had.. By their 3rd fight he was killing the guy.

Mayweather actually did fight better fighters than Cervantes in Marquez, Pacquiao, and Mosley.. They were older guys but they were good.. They started out as Flyweight, Featherweight, and Lightweight so they went through several divisions like Floyd.. Floyd owned a space where he could select his opponents like Sugar Ray Leonard.. Hagler selected his opponents too.. In '85, '86, and '87 Hagler fought once a year and maybe he did get a little rusty for the Leonard fight... I think you need to fight twice a year to stay sharp... But this is the problem with Boxing; you can fight who you want, when you want.

I think Boxing would explode globally if boxers were seeded like Tennis players... Tennis players have to play the guy who won the other bracket.. There's no arguing or negotiating about who they play.. If there were a system of elimination in Boxing that selected the next opponent of a ranked boxer you wouldn't have guys with tons of talent like Luis Ortiz waiting around for several years -- because beyond at a certain age he's not going to be a threat.

So that's the same thing with Lomachenko vs Davis... Realistically is that fight going to happen??? NO...because Loma would kill that kid... And he's not the man getting all the favored attention.. He's the foreigner on the outside looking in.

I find myself constantly cheering against Gervonta Davis for no reason except that a 5'6 129 pound man should never be called "Tank".
