What on earth makes you think I "love big men"?

I don't understand why people are interested. He's 35 years old and still fighting stiffs after 5 years as a pro. A fight between the Zhangs or one of them against Fujimoto might be interesting, but I wouldn't rule out any of them being the home fighter in someone's easy title defence.

Since KO'g Rossi in the first round he's KO'd 3 more opponents in the 1st or 2nd round, most recently Machimana in South Africa in round one in July.

He is pretty good uses his height well but I would like to see a true heavyweight that can come forward a take a shot while giving one someone like Joey Abel and him would be a great matchup so we can see how he reacts to getting hit good.

Okay. I assume that means we're in agreement, then.

Basically what I'm trying to say is that Zhang has fought about 6 opponents as good as Rossi (Machinama, Farrah, Rossi, Arias, Cox, and Gavern) including Rossi himself; and he won them all by round 1-3 stoppage. All of them had a boxrec rating between 20 and 28. So it's basically a complete waste of time for Zhang to fight anyone that isn't in the top 75 rankings (i.e. a boxrec rating of > 30).

Sure we’re in agreement. Why not? I’d like to see him move up. I’d also like to see boxing become popular in China. If they had a heavyweight - or one of the higher weights - champ or top contender that would be a huge boost to the popularity of the sport in the country.

I would assume he is sensibly working on his boxing skills in the gym rather than knocking over cans on undercards.

I trained around this dude years ago when he was just a kid and he was ginormous then and was working incredibly hard. He's not like Valuev, who was kinda disfigured and not very well really: Taishan is a ridiculous specimen, as strong as you can be for a 7 foot guy and I think just a natural giant. I would hope he is locked away in a gym somewhere working on his fundamentals because he is still fairly young and, while he is unlikely to win a world title, could pose a problem for most top 15 heavyweights if moved right and earn himself a few quid.

He was looking shite in his fights when he was active so going off radar for a while so he can learn more seems sensible.
