When? He also has mandatories.

Lara would probably become the WBA's mandatory if he made the jump to 160lbs, as per the WBO situation when their 154lb champ (Canelo) officially announced his intention to compete at 160lbs, resulting in him immediately become Saunders' mandatory challenger.
The WBA's mandatory challenger status will become available after the Jacobs bout, with Lara holding the 154lb title.

Lara should jump up and get that mandatory status then, rather than fighting the likes of shot Yuri Foreman.

Danny Jacobs is Golovkin's only mandatory challenger.
GGG already defeated his IBF mandatory, when he beat Wade, with the new mandatory (Johnson) out of commission with an injury.
There is no WBC mandatory, as they're holding a four man tournament for the position.
Jacobs is the WBA's mandatory.
Therefore, why can't GGG fight Lara?

Jacobs is his only mandatory. Check for yourself and get back to me with your thoughts.

I have to say, if Lara really would become WBA mandatory upon moving up, and if it's actually true that he badly wants a GGG fight, it's strange that he's still down at 154 and now for the most part facing mediocre opposition. Becoming mandatory would put much more pressure on GGG's side to get the fight made, which could be especially important if it's really them who aren't keen on the fight.
Maybe Lara's just grown content with solid paydays for fairly risk-free outings

There's no guarantee that the WBA would make Lara their mandatory, but he'd obtain a good rank.
That said, why should Erislandy vacate his 154lb title if K2 have never shown an interest in a GGG-Lara bout. Loeffler doesn't rate his commercial viability.
Part of me understands Loeffler's position, but if Sanchez's claims are true about Golovkin's rivals being too "scared" to fight him, then K2 should make Lara an offer.
Why not? Lara is better than the vast majority of title contenders that Golovkin has faced.

I guess it depends on how badly Lara really wants it. If he'd probably get named GGG's mandatory upon moving up, as you say, and he actually is yearning for the fight, it seems to me like a worthwhile risk to drop the belt he's been defending against the likes of Foreman and Delvin. It's not like there would be nothing for him to do at 160 outside GGG either.

Lara needs to actually make a call to Golovkin and make him an offer instead of constantly babbling about it online. GGG has bigger fish to fry right now with Jacobs anyway, but Lara would be a good follow up when the Red Coward f*cks around some more.

I haven't followed the sport too closely over the past year so in opening a boxing news site imagine my surprise to see the corpse of a once mediocre fighter such as Foreman getting anywhere near a title shot. Almost unbelievable.

It's always been Lara's management as the vocal party. Make noise, but no real signs of interest.

At this time. By end of March, IBF and/or WBC may appoint mandatories.

Shouldn't the offer come from GGG's team? I admit I don't really know how things like that works, but imagine someone like Horn making Pacquiao an offer instead of the other way around. I thought the offer almost always came from the champion, or at least the A side guy. Lara has publicly said he will fight, and assume he is ready when he gets the call. If GGG has no interest, he is SOL.

I'm curios if BJS will b*tch out via fighting Canelo. He still yapping about wanting to fight GGG but only talking.

Saunders will agree to face the highest bidder. Sporting reasons and any concerns for personal safety will not be considered.

Lara vs Lemieux/Stevens winner , if Lara wants to attract the attention of GGG's team.

Once Lara vacates his title and move up he should and probably will be the WBA number one contender.
He will be mandatory challenger by January 1st 2018
