Sloppy as fvck, does he ever once return a hand to anywhere near his chin after punching? Leaving them dangling out there, looks fornicating awful to me

handsofstone wrote:I really think this could be Groves time, although I thought he would've beat Jack as well mind, its now or never surely, Chudinov is a good strong fighter but not in Jack or Froch's league, I hope the Gutknecht fight isn't weighing too much on Groves's mind and he can use it for inspiration, he was really good in the fight and really gave Gutknecht a beating, obviously it was costly but at least if Groves were to win then it would've been for something

I thought Chudinov should've been reinstated as champ anyhow after Sturm pissed dirty to rub salt in the wounds of being given a gift against Chudinov in the first place, Fedor beat Sturm comfortably enough 1st time and only wins by SD, Sturm gets a rematch Chudinov wins comfortably again on my card but Sturm gets it and then fails a test, an absolute joke

Groves will need to stay switched on against Chudinov and try not to get involved in any exchanges, he has a tendency to try slug his way out of trouble and if Chudinov gets there first then Groves will be in trouble, i'd like to see Groves use his brain in this fight, he's got a great jab and is punching to the body well these days, Chudinov is sturdy and I'm sure he'll have his moments but its Groves ability that should win on the night, goes to the cards though
Nice post. I wasn't aware Strum tested positive in the second fight. He looked so very strong and fast For a 37 year old. I only finished watching it today and I thought Chudinov completetly outworked him. I unlike you though think Chud will chop Groves down, maybe loose the first half, but that pressure and engine to throw will make it a very uncomfortable night for Groves, if Chud can survive the early goings. Think this might be a good one with back and forth momentum/exchanges.

He was getting hit heavy and clean and threw nothing for a long long time. He clearly wasn't going to go down. Did you want to see him hit anymore?

Champion, why not give him a standing count ??

Get in there Groves that was superb, he'll be counting his blessing he got Chudinov out of there before the halfway mark, he was winning the fight but the shots were just bouncing off Chudinov and he was being made to fight at a frantic pace he would've been uncomfortable with, Chudinov is a terminator he just kept marching forward and putting Groves under unbelievable pressure and he tagged George more than once, massive credit to Groves though he risked emptying his tank completely with that final onslaught, he must have landed 30 unanswered punches and Chudinov still wouldn't go down, it reminded me of his brother Dmitry's loss to Eubank Jr, they Chudinov's have some sturdy chins

Well done Groves that was class

For me the issue was that no matter what Groves hit him with he wasn't going down. Too many unanswered punches for me.

If it wasnt stopped then I could anticipate another Blackwell/Gutnecht type situation. Nobody wants that.
