Is this confirmed? I know there was an announcement due this week but nothing has come as far as iv seen?

In the next couple of weeks apparently. I heard it from a couple of lads on the White Collar scene.

I've heard the Degale story a few times now. Apparently they are mates though

\he said he was announcing some big news this week, but seems to have been delayed, yeah him and degale are mates from the ams, hope if true Eddie can put him in some meaningful fights and we can find out how good he is.

The winner of Fielding-Ryder has been ordered to fight him but would like to see him out before that.

He's got a punchers chance of catching someone cold in the first two rounds - but that's about it.
Smith, Groves and even Fielding would be very short favourites.

Signing for Eddie after FW brought him back and stuck patiently by him through all his stupidness outside the ring really shows a distinct lack of loyalty. Guess thats boxing!

Seems to struggle to get fights. Maybe Hearn can change that, be interesting to see how they promote him and if they gloss over his personal life issues.

He might have been fairly busy but he hasn't had a meaningful fight since Sai which was 6 years ago. Some of the inactivity will be self inflicted but even still he should have matched better.

you reckon? he looked absolutely terrible in his last fight and he had been hoovering up WBO brownie points. cox's problems seem to be largely of his own doing.

I have to say I don't recall Jamie Cox.

An ex-Brit champ once told me this lad hits very hard. Harder than the record suggests. Hopefully he can get in the mix and show us what he can do.

Come on Sapfo, don't be shy... Give us a clue. Which ex British champ? Apparently he was jet lagged as well when he sparred Degale. JDG was only being kept up by the ropes when Jim Mc called it off.

I'm going to get down to Chelmsley Wood and see Cox training...

Sadly is always going to be a case of 'what could have been...'

Been told from a reliable source he bingoed Degale in sparring. The same guy only George Groves hits harder out of all the 12 stone fighters he has sparred which include Arthur Abraham.

He's in a difficult position and sometimes does himself no favours too I guess.
His life outside the ring has caused some long delays between contests and whilst he hasn't had any 'big name' opponents, he has dispatched those that he has faced brutally enough to be on the wrong side of the risk reward equation for many to want to face him.
I think I've said it before but when he went up to SM I thought that was a dreadful decision given his former much lighter weight, but he has looked like a killer at 168.
How far is he from a WBO mandatory position?
