You think so?

AJ and Eddie have already discussed Deontay Wilder in a outdoor stadium fight in the US as the next fight immediately after Klitchsko.

I'm convinced he just doesn't train that hard. Never seen clips of him hitting a track doing sprints. It always looks like labored shadow boxing when you see him train. Maybe some bags, some pads and some sparring. All looks one paced in training. His stamina issues are revealing.

He's really in a bad place now. He had excuses before with "drug cheats" but he's got none now. The only way I can see him getting to euro level and beyond is beating hammer in a rematch.

But we can be sure that he will go missing now for a long time. He does this after every loss then pops up with an interview eventually.

They couldn't come close to a stadium fight here.

They are 2 of the most explosive punchers in the Heavyweight division.
With the right type of build up and the right promotion.
You never know...

Americans don't care about Boxing, nobody knows who Wilder and Joshua are.

I am slightly confused by this thread. We have knowledgeable posters who I respect with opinions I could not disagree with more, as I am pretty sure we need to write Pricey off now as a fighter, which may all become moot if he packed it in which must be possible. Regardless, I cannot see any future for him at all and think he would probably trip up in an eight rounder against anyone even a shade above a club fighter. Every opponent knows they just need to last a couple rounds and then can turn the tables on him.

Clearly it seems insane that a fighter with noted stamina and fitness issues was allowed to enter the ring in that kind of shape, especially for a 12 rounder against a decent opponent. Was never ever going to last more than a few rounds. However, that just exacerbated a problem which would be there even if he was 30lb lighter. He does not have reserves there and never will. He could get fitter but stamina which is built up over a long period and is what you rely on past actual trained fitness is not there. Neither is confidence.

Complete and utter shame as he seems one of the nicest chaps in the game, the sort you really would like to see succeed.

Because your emotionally involved with david price i think id stay away from topics with headlines like this, its hard when u have a friend who is a pro boxer and people are laying into him on forums but it is what it is mate, its a boxing forum were people can chat and give their opinion on fights,i doubt its personal to price. Everyone thinks dave is a nice guy out the ring but tbh he is fighting at a level which is too much for him. If dave coldwell earned his money and pushed price in the gym them who knows what price could do but coldwell obviously doesnt push him so the results are what u seen last night. I wish price all the best for the future and its up to him what he does next, personally first think id do is sack coldwell.

Crease wrote:There's no denying tonight was a bad blow to Pricey'so ambitions of moving onward to bigger prizes.

That said, Pricey can come back from this. He's a big guy with a fairly hard punch, there are fights out there for him.

There's a lot of money to be made in the Heavyweight division. And at the moment, Pricey is going to need keeping his name out of the spotlight and getting his head down for the rest of the calendar year

If he accepts a position as a mid-card fighter and fighting 8-10 rounders... Maybe clocking up 5-6 quick wins over the next 8-9 months, he could get back on track quicker than people think.

I'd like to see him fight for and win an International title or an Intercontinental title - something like the WBO International title and defend it a fair few times.

A minor strap like that could be right up his Street and he could really make it his own...

DON'T GIVE UP PRICEY!!!
Let's have it right. How can he do "8 to 10 rounders"? He was blowing out of his 'arris after 2 rounds last night.

He was in disgraceful shape. Coldwell should be ashamed.

Look at the shape of Pricey in his first 10 pro fights compared to last night. This is a tough sport and as nice a guy as he appears, it's difficult to sympathise with a bloke who get's beat due to lack of fitness when they come in that shape.

He took a fair clubbing last night. I'd prefer to see him not take too many more like that.

Either get in proper shape or pack it in. If not then stop calling Joshua out in order to make a huge payday at the expense of the mug punters who would be served up such push.

Yearn was seriously considering Price as Joshua opponent a few months back..... ..

I love boxing, but at times it has my tearing my hair out. Pricey has no business fighting for a world title based on what he has achieved as a pro.

Coldwell has to be asked questions! I thought he was in awful shape on the scales! Hammer had that look about him!

Have you never slated a boxer, footballer, tennis player, politician? Did you ever call them up after to tell them what you said?

This is a boxing forum where we discuss the ups and Downs of the sport. These anonymous posters you criticise are the same ones who were touting price as a future world champion prior to the Thompson and teper fights. We're you offering out his number to allow them to call him up and congratulate the big man then?

If not, you should really consider if this is the right type of place for you to be posting. You seem to be very sensitive to any criticism of price and probably any other fighter you know. This will only wind you up if these people don't fully realise their ambitions.

It's completely up to you, and I don't mean this in a nasty way but every fighter has his fans on here and those who spot weaknesses and are vocal about it. You will not be able to stop this as, like you said, it's a collection of anonymous posters.

I hope the team you are in get the success you want

Price looked flabby last night. Lennox Lewis seemed surprised having seen the size he'd increased to. Earlier, Andre Ward made a great point about fighters who train within their comfort zone and how it's necessary to be pushed to train outwith it. I was shocked at how Price gassed in the second Tony Thompson fight so last night wasn't so surprising but I hoped he'd have improved in some respects under Coldwell. Doesn't seem to be the case.

I was absolutely terrorised on here for backing Fury to beat Price on here. Then he ducked him? Tyson will fight anybody. The TV deals ruined that one. Tyson boxed Price for nothing as a 17 year old kid who trained twice a week whilst Price was on the podium squad, full time, lottery funded.

He was not in shape.

Can't last 5 rounds let alone 12.

I would like to fly planes but not clever enough

David would like to box but not good enough

Yet again fury was right

Retire Mr price and best of luck with what you do next

Codwell is not a top trainer and hate round 1-3 is a cert

X2 mickey,he has achieved so much fury but i cant seem to rate him as a boxer, its nothing personal towards him cause i love his antics at press conferences and interviews but as a boxer i just dont rate him. I won a bet on him beating klitschko so its not like im against him.

Price has looked flabby for this last few fights.

His new team seemed to think that him carrying 15 - 20lbs of blubber would somehow make him a better HW!
