Quigg comes across as thick as two planks of wood. I was surprised when I saw this thread because I didn't think he'd have the smarts to leave Gallagher. He probably thinks the gameplan was the right one and he won the fight.

Frampton said in the head-to-head that Quigg's lack of intelligence would be his downfall. He was right but Tesco Joe's lack of intelligence added to it.

He's taking American language lessons to learn the lingo.
He's worrying about the language barrier.

Good move for quigg going to Roach one of the worlds best and it was the same source that told me about Tyson fury on the carpet rugs well before it came out so he's not a bad source

not sure how this will work but i hope Quigg does well from it,its a big move but i respect him for doing something different.Wonder if anyone else might be leaving Joe too?

Very good news for Quigg.. He's an attacker.

Potentially a very good move, Gallagher is a good trainer but lacks experience in really big fights, which has shown by his inability to change tactics during fights.
You will have to go a long long way to find a trainer more proven and experienced than Roach.
Quigg has trained at the wildcard a few times, so it won't be overly unfamiliar for him.

On a side note, Roach has worked with fighters from all over the world, so he may be one of the few American trainers who might actually understand Quigg when he talks.

Quigg is much smarter then he looks or sounds. He understands boxing quite well. Considering his dedication and drive I think this is a good move. I dont think Joe could teach him anything more, he needs someone more savvy in his corner. Roach seems like a good choice from the standpoint of both Roaches experience and class and of Quiggs style.

Well who is there, Crolla he seems happy, butler won't cause he's flavour of the month at the minute, Marcus Morrison and cardle are settled they are prospects and in a good place at the minute so the smiths I'm not sure about, so leaves us Hosea burton he's already tried to boot joe in the head before and they had to be separated. Have I missed anyone

Roach will definitely Italy push Quigg in his sparring and improve him as a boxer.

Though I do wonder if this means that Quigg will be relocating his fights to the US (as DeGale has been doing the past couple of years).

I doubt it. He's quite popular in the UK but will be a relative unknown in the States.

Plus there's fearsome competition at 126. Better to have home advantage
