Thanks, Dag. Interesting. Mike Mollo didn't seem to like Zimnoch either, tho fine sportsman that he is he hugged him at the end and was gracious in defeat saying "the better man won that night."

I see they were interviewing Golota before the fight broke out. What's up with him these days? Is he staying out of trouble? I'm still pissed off about him getting robbed by the boxing judges when he won the heavyweight title twice fair and square with no nonsense against Ruiz and Byrd, Ruiz and Byrd and Randy Neuman, his own personal designated so called referee that is. Also I've yet to know the real story about his strange career, especially his losses vs Lewis and Grant, which were very strange indeed, the both of them.

Speaking of Polish heavyweight boxing - Wach, who I have been wondering about - has a big fight with Teper in a couple of weeks.

I've also heard some good things about Marcin Siwy and Krzysztof Kosela though I've never seen either fight. Kosela a big guy, 6'6. I think Siwy has done some MMA as well, beat Michael Sprotts ghost in his last boxing outing.

Mollo dont liked Zimnoch because Mollo and Szpilka are good friends now as Szpilka says they talk on phone everyday
Golota is ok, he lives in Chicago and if im not wrong he has kind of a construcition company but he can barely speak well, stutters a lot, many people in comments below Golota's interview ask when they will add subtitles. some months ago Golota won case in court against ''Masa'' one of the most known Polish gangsters, Masa said that Golota lost the fight vs Grant because Andrew had a deal with other famous Polish gangster Pershing (Masa said that Pershing bet 7.000.000$ in one of the bookmakers in Bronx on Golota loss in that fight). Pershing got killed 2 weeks after Golota-Grant fight. And Golota would be better if not a car crash in 1999 which caused that he had literally no left hand until the end of his career

Siwy is a bully from a gym with a lot of muscles but with 0 boxing skills, Kosela has some potential he was good at amateurs but its hard to say yet how good he gonna be as he fought only bums until now

Does Golota talk poorly because he is "punch drunk", that is brain damaged? Yes, that Pershing business was why I thought Golota threw the fight against Grant - and then Pershing was bumped off when he returned to Poland, and Golota went to his funeral with the other gangsters, and Pershing was at his training camp in the US. So did the court decide in Golota's favor that he didn't throw that fight?

The other fight that is so suspicious to me was with Lewis. I've dealt with a lot of drug addicts on my job and I know the look and as soon as I saw Golota walk into the ring - after he had disappeared and no one knew where he was including his corner people - and he showed up at the last minute in a police car! - and as soon as I saw the glassy look in his eyes I said, "he's been drugged!". Later he told some wild story about having gone to a doctor on his own and the doctor injected his knee with something and he almost died.

The Tyson fight was too weird too. Golota was so strong that he was actually winning round two and all he wanted to do was go home. He sounded like he was drugged for that one too.

Byrd and Ruiz though were totally on the level and he won them both and the judges robbed him. I remember several times he hit Byrd and Byrd's hands touched the canvas so it should have been called a knockdown but that total a-hole so called ref Randy Neuman (who runs a money laundering financial investment company in NJ for the boxing criminals) ignored them all.

Golota never was a good speaker but now its hard to understand him well sometimes, as you said its a kind of brain damage. but still better than Bowe now.we have to understand that Golota's mental were mostly because of his gangster things, he was completely different after the ''Pruszków gang'' ceased to exist (i mean mentally different like in Ruiz and Byrd fights). about Tyson fight - it is said that Golota had concussion and broken cheekbone and it may cause death but i dont know it is true or not. yes ''Masa'' has to apologize him and pay some money on Felix Stamm boxing foundation. now ''Masa'' has a conflict with Szpilka, Masa said something about Szpilka i dont know what now and Szpilka replied that he is the biggest ''konfident'' (a police informer) in Poland as Masa is a famous turn state's evidence

yes and they like to play chess together. still, Szpilka is very conflictable, he has also a conflict with ''Diablo'' Włodarczyk and punched him with his head.

He sure was. No monkey business at all in those fights - and still they robbed him.

Do you think he deliberately lost the two Bowe fights?

there are reasons to think so but no evidences. its really hard to say but in my opinion no. still, even without that mafia things Golota is not a ''usual'' pesron with usual metality when he was kid i heard that he was strong and big but was bullied because he was afraid to punch someone. so if it was deliberately or not it still is and will be the biggest mystery of Polish boxing history. :bag:

EDIT: oh yeah its a head-butt (i forgot about this word) my english sucks but i try my best :TU: thanks

Same here, my opinion no too. There are some screws loose in his head I think. Bowe was considered the best in the world and Golota was supposed to be a nothing fight for him, but he was so good he kicked the crap out of Bowe and left him brain damaged in the bargain - and still managed to lose - twice! Once the cops pulled him over around Chicago and - did he have a gun on him I forgot? - and he flashed a fake badge at them and said he was a cop too. Screws loose. He's lucky he avoided jail time.

After reading this thread, the Wilder KO of Szpilka becomes infinitely sweet. Also, glad to be far removed from the Golota era.

ha ha too true. almost all of his fights were a good reason to rink vodka. screws loose in his head. but he had awesome boxing talent back when he dismantled riddock bowe.
