Re: WBC suspends Povetkin

Povetkin fought guys like Richard Bango (17-1 at the time, with Nikolay Valuev as his only loss), Deontay Wilder had "Tye Cobb" as his best opponent, who has fought 8 guys before he fought Wilder, all 8 opponents combined had 4 wins in total, 3 of those were won by a guy who lost by KO in the 2nd round against a 154 pound guy one match after (who wasn't a top contender himself either). Also note that Tye Cobb lost against this guy:Rob3_142 wrote:x2x wrote:SaadOffTheDeck wrote: Developing power this late in his career was suspicious, toss two failed tests on top of that and you have to consider it an air tight case.
Not true. 10 of his first twelve pro fights were KO's.![]()
I'm pretty certain most the guys in the top 50 have a high KO rate in their first 10 pro fights.
Stiverne had that drink on purpose to explain PEDs in his test.BitPlayer wrote:Stivern had a sports drink, Povetkin tested positive for an anabolic steroid analouge.montrealsuper wrote:Stiverne tests positive/ WBC takes no action - Povetkin supposedly tests positive/banned suspended -- So easy for corruption to manipulate the system isn't it? So, you are saying that it is Stiverne who is so stupid/naive to take a PED containing drink in front of VADA testers ?Badhusker wrote:Let's see.....does that stupid comment deserve aboxing_rocks wrote:Stiverne had that drink on purpose to explain PEDs in his test.BitPlayer wrote: Stivern had a sports drink, Povetkin tested positive for an anabolic steroid analouge.or a
? Depends on your mood I guess.
Even if what your saying is true, Stivern was on something sold in sports drinks, Povetkin was taking something equivilent to Steroids, they're not even in the same league.boxing_rocks wrote:So, you are saying that it is Stiverne who is so stupid/naive to take a PED containing drink in front of VADA testers ?Badhusker wrote:Let's see.....does that stupid comment deserve aboxing_rocks wrote:

... and steroids can be found in meat. Remember, Vargas wasn't suspended for steroids, as he allegedly got them from meat. Clear double standards.BitPlayer wrote:Even if what your saying is true, Stivern was on something sold in sports drinks, Povetkin was taking something equivilent to Steroids, they're not even in the same league.boxing_rocks wrote:So, you are saying that it is Stiverne who is so stupid/naive to take a PED containing drink in front of VADA testers ?Badhusker wrote:

I couldn't find anything that said what Povetkin took has ever been used in meat, it wasn't steroids it was just similar.boxing_rocks wrote:... and steroids can be found in meat. Maybe don't use Russia Today. It's like when a conservative "backs up" what they said with Fox News.boxing_rocks wrote:WADA must be ruled by Russiansdempseyfire wrote:There is a strange reactionary nationalism in Russia, which Putin and his media puppets encourage, in which anytime a Russian is found to have done something wrong, it's because of some grand "Western" conspiracy. Are you saying that WADA didn't make that statement ? Is Reuters also controlled by Russians ?BitPlayer wrote:Maybe don't use Russia Today. I think you'll find that the first 10 pro fights of any top 50 heavyweight will have little to know bearing on that boxers ability to be successful at the highest level. Person A knocking over tin can X quicker than person B. What does it prove? That tin can X is probably not very good and not a good yard stick on a fighters ability.asdfjkl wrote:Povetkin fought guys like Richard Bango (17-1 at the time, with Nikolay Valuev as his only loss), Deontay Wilder had "Tye Cobb" as his best opponent, who has fought 8 guys before he fought Wilder, all 8 opponents combined had 4 wins in total, 3 of those were won by a guy who lost by KO in the 2nd round against a 154 pound guy one match after (who wasn't a top contender himself either). That's quite a bit of difference you know?
If you mean absolved in the sense that they banned him indefinitely, then yeah sure, completely innocent...Kalan wrote:Saad, you're too dumb to read the facts and understand them... WADA, VADA, and the WBC all absolved Povetkin of cheating... They all hate him so they wouldn't do that if he weren't innocent... He's the victim of a massive screw job and you're too dense to see it.

Now apologise to Saad you ignorant fucktard.
Yeah, it means nothing at the end of the day. He won't fight for the WBC belt or any eliminators or anything like that. There's a huge world of boxing out there.crusader wrote:What is the force of the suspension anyway? Can't he just fight in bouts that don't have a WBC title or ranking on the line?
Wow, the info on the link you got is full of mistakes!? They even call the Povetkin/Duhaupas KO controversial?! Now in fact the Washington KO was controversial, but the Duhaupas KO was as convincing as you can possibly get it?Rob3_142 wrote:If you mean absolved in the sense that they banned him indefinitely, then yeah sure, completely innocent...Kalan wrote:Saad, you're too dumb to read the facts and understand them...
