Sniffing glue and boffing petrol isn't recommended.
no chance while Josh Taylor fight for commwealth title. Davies is ranked by the WBC and could fight world level guys know. He just bypassed the Taylor level.Stuarty30 wrote:He's not even the best in Britain. Josh Taylor will slap him around
Different stages in their careers. I'd still take Taylor over Davies. He's a better all round fighter so there's every chance man.world ranked wrote:no chance while Josh Taylor fight for commwealth title. If there the same level as fighters as you suggest why isn't Josh Taylor at least at euro/brittish level. Hearn did say he wants Taylor for Davies so if Taylors team fancy it. Probably can happen.Stuarty30 wrote:Different stages in their careers. I'd still take Taylor over Davies. Taylor said he'll take the fight in a heartbeat as has his promoter McGuigan. I didn't say they were the same level I said Taylor is the better fighter.world ranked wrote:If there the same level as fighters as you suggest why isn't Josh Taylor at least at euro/brittish level. is it just me or does he seem more athletic, with equal reach and closly as much power as crawford

I'm not for being smarmy after someone gets a pick wrong but this is pretty spectacularly wrong. Especially seeing as Jip once told me he was an expert and I was clueless.Boxerbeetle wrote:This thread deserved a bump, shocking how little some people know
That's the problem with forums like this; some people think their opinions are facts.Covfefe wrote:I'm not for being smarmy after someone gets a pick wrong but this is pretty spectacularly wrong. That's why boxing is great. If everything happened as I think it will it would be tiresome. I didn't offer a pick last night as I hadn't seen Taylor much and thought Davies was decent enough but there was clearly faults there. Sometimes it's fun to just watch. Comparing him to Crawford is pretty bad though.Syntax Error wrote:That's the problem with forums like this; some people think their opinions are facts.Covfefe wrote:I'm not for being smarmy after someone gets a pick wrong but this is pretty spectacularly wrong. Sometimes, even self appointed 'experts' can get things spectacularly wrong.

Did he? What else did he say, did he say why he was gesturing to his eye. Or was he just wanting a way out?crusader wrote:I dont like to throw it in people's faces, and Im wrong plenty myself, but I really have no idea how people couldve watched Davies and think he was world class and/or on a different level to Taylor. He's got loads of technical flaws (e.g very wide punches from too far out), his footwork is plodding, he's a bit short for 140, and he isnt particulary fast handed or big punching.
To me he's a poor man's Broner, and I found it striking how he was being talked about on the world scene even though he'd never fought beyond English level prior to Scarpa and shopworn Matthews. I think he partially gobbed himself into that...
Let's see how he comes back from being outclassed, beaten up, and stopped. Even he admitted that it was an embarrassing loss,
Fair play to Taylor he made me look silly. I was clearly wrong here.Naandrew wrote:

Nothing wrong with being wrong mate, as long as you didn't go so far as to say Davis was better than Terence Crawfordworld ranked wrote:Fair play to Taylor he made me look silly. I was clearly wrong here.Naandrew wrote:

Are you now saying that Davis is on FMJ's level, just tactically flawed?Jip wrote:Styles make fights. Had floyd brawl with canelo or maidana he wouldve get tko'd.
Had ohara fight from outside, quick in and out, than he surly wouldve won. Instead he decided to fight close up with a guy who has a good hook and who likes to fight close range and thats what happened.
So you were right, he just fought wrong? Surely would have won? He got his ass whipped.Jip wrote:Styles make fights. Had floyd brawl with canelo or maidana he wouldve get tko'd.

You make a rod for your own back with all the "I'm an expert" garbage but at least you stick around and face up to the gloating when you get one (embarrassingly) wrong. It's a decently admirable quality.Jip wrote:Styles make fights. Had floyd brawl with canelo or maidana he wouldve get tko'd.

So you're saying that if O'hara had adopted a competely different fighting style, one that we've never previously seen him employ before and is probably incapable of doing, then he wouldn't have lost to Taylor?Jip wrote:Styles make fights.
