Haye showed great bravery tonight I think to carry on anyone that has boxed or even had a move about will understand how much agony he must have been in I think he showed a lot of heart fair play to him!

Not lying to themselves — they were right about the result, but I haven't seen anyone predict the method? People were saying that Bellew would beat an uninjured Haye with his stamina, when Bellew seemed the more tired of the two at times.

One person did in the prediction thread I think. Close as anyway, said Haye would be injured and not stop.

My point wasn't about the pick it was about people pretending Bellew did it through grit and heart, he may very well have gone on to do it, I doubt it but we'll never know, what we do know is that Haye was injured and wasn't able to fight back effectively enough to even worry Bellew, which gifted him the bout.

I think every top boxer is heroic anyway

From the off I said that if Haye didn't stop Bellew within 4/5 it was Bellew's fight & I never once thought Haye would quit. He wasn't hurt. He was just hurt

For the record, I don't have much of a problem with Bellew, I'm just a bit upset about Haye's lost youth because we're the same age. His glory years are over.

I have no issues with Bellew, I didn't like him saying his heart won out post-fight given the manor of victory. I don't believe for a second his game plan was for Haye to potentially exacerbate a pre-existing injury though.

I strongly tipped Haye to win this early, fancied the 1st but maybe up to the 3rd,ive been wrong plenty but I'd say this is probably most wrong ive been, he never showed anything until he was injured in the 6th, I had him up after 5 but Bellew was only trying to make him miss so the few shots he tagged Tony at the end of his punches were enough to take them, the most conclusive round of the fight was the 1st for Bellew, I would have still tipped Haye to nail Bellew eventually if not for the injury but TBH if he never had the injury to wake him up would have toiled for 12 rounds?

Haye was injured pre-fight. Could have pulled out. Didn't, and fought it out to the very end on one leg. Only hate would blind anyone from not respecting that, and there is plenty of evidence of that because some have voted that their respect for him is now lower

My wrongst was probably Khan-Prescott, on the phone to a mate looking up Prescott's record I said he's fought no one should be an easy night for Khan. Splat. That's the night I first posted on here too.

Both took a moral victory today and my respect goes for both of these warriors. Whats wrong with some of you people. You have to give respect for such a gutsy performances. At least for one night. At least until they resume talking their usual bollocks and continue to behave like money hungry cherry pickers. If you cant feel respect for a fighter on a fight night, really you should not be watching boxing. I would not be. If Boris Johnson and Donald Trump showed up, stepped into the ring and give each other bloody nose, I would show respect to those two if only for that one night.

Best thing for Trump'd be to use his hair as a cushion and take Johnson late. Johnson'll tire after the first minute if he doesn't catch Trump with a clumsy shoulder barge. Or maybe he does, and the ref disqualifies him. You'd have to fancy Trump in this one for the home-cooking.

Yes, Bellew looked brilliant not being able to fight for three full minutes while Haye lent on the ropes.

Well, he made an idiot of himself in all the buildup and he had to deliver.

It turns out he's a liability, carrying serious injuries, during a very big PPV event.

Brave or not, this is not good.

Haye's had an odd career in many ways.

Almost every big PPV has been a flop of a fight (Valuev, Harrison, Klitschko, Bellew)

Funnily enough I think all his best fights were non-PPVs on Eurosport, Setanta, allegedly (Mormeck, Enzo, Chisora).

I personally never doubted his grit. Against Thompson I think he basically blew all of his reserves. Klitschko was a case of getting absolutely dominated...a preservation job.
He’s come through some heavy fire in the past.

I’m a little bit surprised at how soon he was hanging his cap out for the rematch. I know he likes nice clobber and jet setting about - then there’s the specialists etc... When Tyson’s begging Lewis for the rematch you know it’s because he’s broke.....with Haye, he probably is just trying to milk his career for every last cent. Understandable really. But I don’t see this as worthy of a rematch.
