Re: Jacobs vs Lemieux ?

I'm undecided about this one. The only thing I'm certain about is that I'd really like to find out, and sooner rather than later ... yeah ok, that's two things - don't be a smartass ![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)
There would be no "comfort". Lemieux is a constant pressure.Syntax Error wrote:I would expect Jacobs to comfortably outbox Lemieux.
Golovkin didn't take any risks. Lemieux would.Blodhemn wrote:If Jacobs can avoid a GGG KO and derail a 23 fight KO streak, he can avoid a Lepieux KO.
Jacobs by wide decision.
Lol, I guess Stevens was the first time you've seen David. His previous fight was a sleepwalk and don't even think about watching him trudge around the ring with alcine. But yeah, one fight changes it all. He could squash Jacobs with a jab!boxing_rocks wrote:Golovkin didn't take any risks. People should stop bringing up fights of 22-23-year old gassed Lemieux.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Lol, I guess Stevens was the first time you've seen David. Not when he's getting hit hard by Jacobs.boxing_rocks wrote:There would be no "comfort". Lemieux is a constant pressure.Syntax Error wrote:I would expect Jacobs to comfortably outbox Lemieux.

Fine, skip that one. What about the one before Stevens? Although fighters the level you consider lemieux wouldn't have to worry about gassing against alcine. So David punches harder now?boxing_rocks wrote:People should stop bringing up fights of 22-23-year old gassed Lemieux.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Lol, I guess Stevens was the first time you've seen David. Quite possible, but it is also quite possible that he would KTFO Jacobs.Tanzio wrote:. . . and get himself KTFO.boxing_rocks wrote:Golovkin didn't take any risks. Lemieux would.Blodhemn wrote:If Jacobs can avoid a GGG KO and derail a 23 fight KO streak, he can avoid a Lepieux KO.

"Might be" is correct. "Comfortably outbox" isn't.Syntax Error wrote:Did I say that?boxing_rocks wrote:Syntax Error wrote:

Lemieux is an aggresive come forward pressure fighter.
Jacobs is more of a boxer who happens to have a hard punch himself.
Lemieux might be less inclined to pile on the pressure if very hard punches are coming back at him, thus meaning Jacobs might be liable to outbox him.
That's not hard to understand, surely?
There is no correct or incorrect about an opinion about a hypothetical issue.boxing_rocks wrote:"Might be" is correct. "Comfortably outbox" isn't.Syntax Error wrote:Did I say that?boxing_rocks wrote:So, Lemieux wouldn't be hitting hard, but Jacobs would

I'm with you, don't see lemieux landing much at all.Syntax Error wrote:There is no correct or incorrect about an opinion about a hypothetical issue.boxing_rocks wrote:"Might be" is correct. "Comfortably outbox" isn't.Syntax Error wrote:

I am of the opinion that if Lemieux & Jacobs fought, Jacobs would comfortably outbox him.
I might be entirely off base with that opinion, but none of us would know if it's right until they actually fight, if they ever do.
