All the things Jacobs did are all the things Canelo can't do, so the comparison is moot.

I have always and still do fancy Canelo to beat Golovkin but strangely I would fancy Jacobs to beat Canelo.

Incidently, does anyone give Chavez Jnr a chance against Canelo? I think Canelo will have too much savvy but I think it is a tasty fight, one in which I feel both fighters will feel they are meeting a fighter that will suit their style (Chavez is facing a smaller guy who doesn't run, Canelo is facing a slower guy who is not hard to hit).

Still think Golovkin is all too powerful for Canelo and I think Jacobs would do a Lara type performance against Canelo and actually get the decision.

For me Ggg beats canelo still

Canelo knocks Chavez mate, the left hook to the body on a taller frame would be killer I think the weight is another factor Chavez will be super drained !

Canelo always fights on the front-foot. He wouldn't vs Golovkin. Nor does he seem to have the kind of handspeed that Jacobs gave Golovkin trouble with. I don't see how Canelo wins.

I think Canelo has the capacity to improve because of his age but he's had a long career himself. Been a pro since he was a baby! GGG is as good as he's ever going to be and maybe on the slide. Personally I think it's a bit premature to suggest he's on the slide but more than a few people have suggested this and I take the point on board.

All that being said I still think GGG does him and does him well! Better footwork, better jab, punches harder, more in his arsenal! As you say, can't really see past a GGG win but I said that about the Jacobs fight and thought Haye would Smash Bellew up Perhaps it really is the year of the underdog?

Well the only way Bellew would ever beat Haye was an injury, and Golovkin still beat Jacobs unless u seen it the other way? I think maybe not enough credit is being given to Jacobs. I'll rewatch the fight in full but I think there's the case that Jacobs is the best of the rest and alot better than people think he is.

I gave Jacobs the first three and neither of em done much in the first three so they rounds are certainly a factor in my final score. I'd need to see the fight again but the feeling I got at the end (scoring aside) was Jacobs had done enough but it was one of they fights that I couldn't argue either way.

Well - Jacobs is very good AS WELL.
MM had a big size advantage, but he didn't have the footwork, movement, handspeed or power that DJ did.

Murray did have decent hand speed and decent skills and a bit more movement than it sounds like you're crediting him with, if he'd had the same level of power as he has a chin he'd have given Golovkin massive problems. But then if that were the case MM would have been MW champion before Golovkin anyway. Jacobs as you say went beyond that and most of all was more of a mover but with a serious punch. I think people are forgetting that team GGG played up Jacob's power continually, I think that had got in his head a bit, first time he was facing someone who his team believed could have an impact.

I had golovkin winning the first three even though bugger all really happened.

Whilst GGG is in the shape/stage of his career he is around now, is still back him to win against Canelo. Good chance of stopping him too.

I don't believe Canelo to fight in the style to cause GGG problems. Ie GGG won't have too look too far to find Canelo, and very basically speaking if he can hit you he will beat you, and probably stop you.

Jacobs had success but he fought in a way I didn't anticipate. I thought he'd be more aggressive and give GGG more opportunities from attacking more himself. He didn't he had good footwork and lateral movement. He wasn't always there when GGG wanted to tee off. He also had the good power and speed to land hard flurries so he wasn't in flight mode all fight.

I've yet to see Canelo possess the skills to fight like this

That's what I mean lol. I'll need to watch the fight back. From what I remember they first three could easily have been scored even.
