Simion lost every round to Selby 4 years ago, and scraped past Gago (Selby's most recent opponent, which was nothing more than a keep busy fight) in his last fight. Can't say I am best pleased with this matchup, you would expect better with 4 weeks to go and that being the first undercard fight announced.

Its despicable if he doesn't bother with this card.
If Klitschko makes it boring Hearn will get it.

I'll have to rewatch it, maybe my memory has been skewed by looking at the scorecards. But as you say, four years is a long time anyway nonetheless.

I remember some on here praising it because one of the fights was entertaining. Go back and look at the thread if you don't believe me.

I'll be surprised if any fights better than a WT eliminator are added. I get the impression Klitschko's team are less receptive to the idea of giving an extra half million to the undercard compared to most of Joshua's opponents thus far.

Yeh that's really poor. If they were going to have anything half decent they'd have been announced by now, so it's going to be a bunch of last minute garbage. Expect Name X, Name Y, Name Z in ticking over fights.

As some have said this is the norm nowadays, Hearn knows AJ is hot property & enough people will buy the PPV just to see him vs. Wladimir so why should he waste putting genuine fights on the undercard when he could use them elsewhere.

I'm not saying it's right but clearly the direction he's being going in for awhile now & he's getting away with it.

Yep, it's just the reality of the situation. The venue is sold out and 99% plus of everyone in attendance and watching on tv are doing so for Joshua alone.

Boxing hardcore types will watch anyway because it's a major heavyweight fight.

A crap undercard won't affect other cards later in the year. 'Fancy watching the Brook fight?' 'Nah you're alright. I would have but I thought Scott Quigg was matched too easily on the Joshua Klitschko bill' said absolutely no one.

Genuinely massive fight = weak undercard, weak main event = solid undercard is the usual model. I maintain the reason for this one being so poor is cost. As the opponent Wlad costs a hell of a lot more than Groves in an already very expensive venue.
