He didnt have a hard time with Barrera at all. It was an 8-4 type affair at worst.

losing 4 rds is not equal for having a walk in the park....more of a hard time...his face certainly looked more marked than the face of barrera and i had barrera winning...cause those pity paty punches from ward dont count....pu/()y punches.
Winning double to amount of rounds as your opponent is a hard time?

Don't think anyone has deserved the title outright since Floyd.

“My Top-Three pound for pound list is GGG, Kovalev and Crawford. I don’t want to be Number One until I deserve it,” according to Vasyl Lomachenko himself FWIW.

If Ward is a p4p king, then boxing is dead.

Ward, although many who thought he lost to Kov will disagree. Still the best CV and holds on to p4p for me as i had him winning just about.

Boxing can't survive a boring, dirty, feather-fisted boxer as a p4p #1.

You don't have to like him for him to be considered the best or one of the best P4P boxers. Many couldn't stand Mayweather but it became undeniable to a degree, P4P is pretty meaningless anyway. But it becomes hard to deny a guy that consistently in his career steps in with the cream of his division and only ever wins. At that point when people talk P4P, Ward will always be mentioned.

Most of the greats have a dirty side to their game or refuse to be bullied (is what i'd call it), Ward hits hard enough for people to not take liberties, and boxing will survive Ward. Other than that, i think we agree. :maybe:

I don't have to like him, but he is bad for boxing popularity among casual fans. Mayweather didn't help it too in his last years, but at least he wasn't boring outside of the ring. He was never as boring as Ward inside the ring.

Interestingly Lomanchenko says it's not him, not yet, his top 3 is GGG Kovalev and Crawford.

The guy is just being modest. He comes from a totally different culture than Floyd.

He doesn't deserve to be considered P4P No. 1.

it is so refreshing to see someone being the opposite of floyds arrogant nature. modesty, even when you have the best footwork in all of boxing and you the most well rounded boxer on earth right now, even with all that talent you dont call yourself #1 cause you dont have enough top names beaten on your resume, that is a good feeling finaly having a modest p4p #1, which to me he is, also when i voted vacant, but in terms of ability etc he the best. if he cleans out his division and beats gervonta davis, than he should be considered #1, but lets see what crawford does....will he go to 147 and be succesful, i doubt, he is too skinny in my view to hang with big thurman or spence.

I voted vacant

The list all contains good fighters but the fact this thread has all sorts of opinions on who it should be confirms there is no undisputed number 1.

As someone else said, when floyd, or manny were on top, 90% of fans accept their status. Go even further back when it was Roy etc and it's the same thing. People can have their opinion now but theirs nothing unanimous about it.

Ward - simply isn't active enough. He has the w over Kov but there's as many questions as theirs answers with that fight

Ggg - lot of questions after the Jacobs fight, although the general consensus is the result should be argued as much as ward kov. He's more active and a unified champ so I don't see how wards above him

Kov - see ward

Crawford - super fighter fighting good opposition. Think he needs a couple high profile fights to really put his name in lights

Lomu - a phenomenon. Really very good. His legend is enhance with the whole wt in 2 fights thing. But p4p isn't decided on how quick you get the wt.

All the other guys have good cases but I don't believe there's a dominant 1
