Re: Usyk
Never expected Tyrone to achieve rank 1, he got exactly the same sizes as Povetkin, a match between them could be exiting, Povetkin is just far more experienced in boxing, Tyrone has been in the Chagaev team, till Chagaev retired.Stuarty30 wrote:Tyrone Spong's fukked thenasdfjkl wrote:Probably the best in this era, bit the size and weightdifference between cruiserweight top and the heavyweight top is to big.Deserter wrote: I think it's fair to say he's already more than a very good cruiserweight!
Re: Usyk
I'm not disputing that, just took issue with the claim that he's simply a very good cruiserweight. Depending on how he opts to progress his career, he's got the potential to be the best cruiserweight since Holyfield.asdfjkl wrote:Probably the best in this era, bit the size and weightdifference between cruiserweight top and the heavyweight top is to big.Deserter wrote:I think it's fair to say he's already more than a very good cruiserweight!asdfjkl wrote:Osyk ain't big enough for heavyweight, but he can be a very good cruiserweight

Re: Usyk
Usyk already beat big Joe Joyce handily in the WSB.
He looked a lot smaller though

Re: Usyk
Most of the successful Cruisers move up to Heavyweight because of the lure of the big money. Johnny Nelson does speak very highly of Usyk.EdwinValero wrote:Does anyone think Usyk will step up to heavyweight in the future?
He is a big cruiser and I'd love to see him throw a spanner in the works of a relatively poor HW division, although at 30 he's no spring chicken.
Re: Usyk
Yep, he gave him quite the boxing lesson, though I think Joyce improved after that. He also unanimously beat Magomed Medzhidov shortly before the latter won his second consecutive SHW world championship.boxingknockout wrote:Usyk already beat big Joe Joyce handily in the WSB.

Re: Usyk
All this talk of him movin to heavyweight. I really want him to clear up at cruiser as there are some excellent fights there.
Also people are willing to travel. If Breidis picks up the WBC belt he will fight all over the place with it.

The 10 times kickboxing champion of the world in 6 different weightclasses, including heavyweight, over his carreer called Tyrone Spong yes.Stuarty30 wrote:I wouldn't even know who the dude is if it wasn't for that crazy Dutch fella!Autobarn wrote:Spong the Muay Thai champ?Stuarty30 wrote:

He recently moved to boxing and currently had 6 fights, 6 wins, 6 early KO's. Sadly the boxing world realises and simply refuse to challenge him.

Re: Usyk
I saw him in Russia last year. Not impressed. Very robotic and has zero gears to go through.asdfjkl wrote:The 10 times kickboxing champion of the world in 6 different weightclasses, including heavyweight, over his carreer called Tyrone Spong yes.Stuarty30 wrote:I wouldn't even know who the dude is if it wasn't for that crazy Dutch fella!Autobarn wrote: Spong the Muay Thai champ?

Sorry to disappoint you but he won't get to the world stage boxing wise.

Re: Usyk
They prob said that about Holyfield too. With modern supplements and nutrition it's not impossible.asdfjkl wrote:Osyk ain't big enough for heavyweight, but he can be a very good cruiserweight

Well Holyfield certainly enjoyed a 'supplement' or two, that's for sure...boxingknockout wrote:They prob said that about Holyfield too. With modern supplements and nutrition it's not impossible.asdfjkl wrote:Osyk ain't big enough for heavyweight, but he can be a very good cruiserweight
