You know, I finally put two and two together with you Tanzio. You are Russian-ish aren't you? You are always concerned about some mediocre boxer from that area that no one cares about. Oh yeah, i'm sure EVERYONE is dying to see Usyk vs. Gassiev. That and your crush you have on the twin cavemen Klits...I'm starting to see where you are coming from. Come clean. Where are you from?
Who is following who around here, Professor Clouseau? Do you have an opinion on the subject of the thread, caldOHm, or are you just pleasuring yourself fantasizing about who I am?

Usyk v Gassiev would be a very competitive match between two of the three top cruisers at the moment. Briedis v either of those two would also be a good match.
Oh you don't like it when someone follows you around and yaps on every opinion you have? Not fun is it? Just wanted you to see what you are doing to other people on this site.

Outrageous statement. Everyone who follows the cruiserweight division is dying to see Usyk/Gassiev. Gassiev has p4p power and chin against Usyk's p4p boxing talent. It's a glorious matchup.
Yeah the Cruiserweight Division is REALLY carrying the sport right now. It's literally the WORST weight division in boxing and no one cares but the people on this OP. I'll let you sad sack of weirdos have fun talking about your dream Cruiserweights fighting each other. Next time, label the OP's subject so people know it's a weirdo chat for you folks so the smart people can not click in here.

Guess we're talking Tyson rather than Hughie. Are we talking 2017 Tyson or 2015/6 Tyson coz that makes a big difference?

I don't think anyone has claimed it's carrying the sport Caldo but there are a few cruiserweights of promise and quality around right now. Why so aggressive, just chill bro?

Disagree he definitely has a better resume than wilder. The whole fury as a good boxer thing is something I just haven't seen. He's big with balls.

Any fury for me. I honestly haven't seen Hughie. Wilder and Tyson were the only heavies I watched for a few years.

He managed to outbox Wlad. Maybe it was just the perfect fight for him. Then again, maybe he's actually a decent boxer.

It is off topic, definitely, but CW is rather hot weight division recently. Usyk (IMHO, and neglecting resume) is the best p4p boxer in the world right now. And there are at least three excellent fighters besides.
Of course, you have your own opinion, and I have to respect it....

:OhYes: @ Tyson Fury being the slick one.
Fury is slick - admittedly ugly slick rather than pretty slick, but slick no doubt. Surprisingly quick on his feet for such a big man - otherwise with his lack of power (and chin?) he wouldn't beat anyone. Klitschko, like many before before him, for whatever reason, could not handle an elusive foe.

There are moving targets and then there are moving targets. Some are 'pretty' slick (as Anthony Crolla will testify), and some are not.

Some might say he is just an elusive con man.

I'll give you that Tyson is light on his feet for his size, but he's not elusive. I wanted Tyson to win as if he was my favorite fighter and I still grew frustrated that wlad didn't even attempt to capitalize on so many glaring openings. Especially the right jab to the body when Tyson put his chin up on a tee.

It was a putrid fight. Wlad is just not a fighter that will go for it.

Wow, a reply with some integrity within these sad sacks of loserville is tough to find so thanks for breaking the chain. I've seen Usyk fight and he mowed down a chump so it didn't really show me much but that's a bold claim to put him as your best P4P guy. I'll check him out though and see what he's got.

If some CW talent came to the surface and some nice fights were put on then it could be nothing but good for Boxing. I just don't see that weight as entertaining as the others. Not since Evander Holyfield fought Dwight Muhamaad Qawi

If you can, and you're inclined to, watch Haye vs. Mormeck. That was a great fight.

I have been following boxing for more than forty years, and I have a strong feeling right now that Usyk is the best boxer p4p. He is extremely skillful, fast, with excellent chin and stamina, and fearless. His punch power is very solid, but not excellent, and this is the only area where he is not 10/10.
Recently, I have read that he would like to become undisputed CW champion. I prefer to see him at HW, and I am almost (90%) sure that he would be the HW champion very soon. I admit that I thought the same for another fighter (Solis) maybe ten years ago....Fat Cuban is my boxing disappointmet, but this is another story.
By the way, David Haye was rather exciting CW fighter....He had some very interesting fights; honestly, I forgot his opponents' names....

I should have responded to your backend comment. He's certainly a decent boxer, better than that in the Heavyweight landscape. Too many people are carried away like he's Whitaker. He's defensively poor in the elite scheme of things, very poor.

We've already had some pretty damn competitive bouts this year. The entire GGG-Jacobs card was pretty competitive. I expect Kell Brook vs Errol Spence will be pretty damn competitive.

This weekend in England the Battle of the Liam's could be real interesting.

Boxing's already better in 2017 than it was in 2016 in my opinion. Good damn thing too because 2016 sucked for Fight fans.

The rest are box office stuff though
The size difference is biggest between Joshua and Wilder.
