Not remotely one-sided. If anything Ali took a bit of a good hiding. Two great fighters tho but a competetive fight.

Foreman vs Frazier and Hearns vs Duran are both top class bouts but...

Both are an example of a terrible style match up for Frazier and Duran. The long range banger

Froch vs Bute

However after the fight we got to find out Bute wasn't top class imo. Great win for Froch but still

Jack Johnson vs Jim Jeffries. Has to be up there as the biggest impact on society. Was so one sided that it started riots around the country.

Pacquiao v Cotto. Cotto was still top notch at that time and Manny gave him a severe pasting.

Something reminded me of that yesterday. Looking back it seems amazing to me that someone beat Miguel Cotto up! :o

True. Considering years later he gave Mayweather and Canelo competitive scraps. Pacquiao slaughtered Cotto that night. I think to be fair to Cotto he was struggling for confidence after Margacheato. He obviously still had some demons.

One of the most satisfying fights for me personally was when Cotto done that prick in the rematch. That has to be up there with Maidana slapping Broner around.

If ever there was a case of a top fighter being put in his place, it was Ali over George Foreman. Previously seen as unbeatable and the most ferocious fighter on the planet

Circa 2008. I only know cos I remember reading BN where I lived then. Was Cotto the guy that got illegally assaulted by Margarito?
Also - around about that same time - Judah and Cotto went to war in The Garden. Judah got a lot of praise for his bravery that night.

I don’t know how he was perceived. But I’m talking about A class fighters getting dismantled. Foreman Ali doesn’t fit that category for me because it was 80% George Foreman attacking! Ali sustained by far the most (physical) damage from that fight.
Hardly Duran - Hearns stuff.

It was the fight afterwards that Margarito got caught with the plaster before he fought Mosely but it's widely believed he pulled the same stunt against Cotto and got away with it. Cotto was a mess after that fight and said it felt harder when he was being hit that fight.

Great shout.
In the Caballero Molitor mold, I reckon.

Tszyu v Judah was the top two light-Walters against each other.

Pacquiao v Barrera

magwitch wrote:Ok let me explain. The other day one of these social media boxing pages had a Barrera Hamed video up.
We all know that Hamed was not at his best (nowhere even close to his best, depending who you listen to) - in that respect it says something about how good you are if you can hang 12 with Barrera whilst not training right.

But - let’s suppose that a peak Naseem had (I said let’s suppose) that he had taken out Barrera. That for me would have been a remarkable victory!

So it got me thinking......are there some examples where an A class fighter has come up against another A class fighter and completely flipped them over? I’m talking about winning a bit of a one-sided contest against another A* class fighter? :maybe:

There must be some. To kick off - for example - what about Vernon Forest doing a complete and utter job on Shane Moseley?

Say some more...
Im not having that naz wasnt training right,i watched a documentary about him training with all his brothers there and they were saying "naz is in a bad mood someone is gonna get seriously hurt" when his sparring partners turned up,the camera went off then came back on and emannuel steward came on saying naz got bullied and he wasnt happy with what he saw. Naz was right but barrera was just at a better level than anyone naz had fought before hence why he got a boxing lesson.

Liston v Patterson
Bradley v Alexander

Don't agree with Naz being past it though. He made stupid choices thats all. Barrera would outbox him any day.

Brian Viloria - Giovani Segura, Segura was the 108-112lbs Margarito who had been bullying and overwhelming people, and Viloria absolutely malleted his face in.

I read about it about 10 years ago. Watched it 10 minutes ago :TU:
Not as bad as it was in print. But Molitor was still a class fighter. Both fighters were 6-0 in world title fights going in. They both weighed in at exactly the same weight in both weigh-ins and both were in only their second fights under the current trainer.

Something else weird was the refs language. About 100 times he said “nobody throw” whilst separating them. Never heard that before :-?

Molitor outclassed Mick Hunter and I thought he was really talented. Was shock how Caballero handled him!m

The shot that floored Hunter is one of the best I’ve seen thrown. The fight ended 30 seconds later, but it was that punch that did for Hunter.
I’ve just seen that Molitor only had 11ko’s - mostly against “fellow outclassed Canadians” - so perhaps not “powerful” but when you don’t see ’em coming.... I was at that fight, which is why Molitor made an impression. It was a bit of a masterclass and Hunter had done nothing wrong until he got walloped.

Yep, that's a good call. While not in the same league, Hopkins performed similar acts against Pavlik and Tarver
