Williams fought excellently. He looked like he was starting to tire when the fight was stopped but was winning handily. The fact the judges only had him one up tells me he was losing that fight if it went to the cards. Absolute fuckin joke. Even Woodalls unofficial card was far too close IMO. The Smiths and their wanker clan, Gallagher etc in the ring afterwards was hard to watch.

Afterwards the guy who had every right to feel aggrieved comes across as a total gent and class act and the guy who has clearly got out of jail acts like an arrogant prize tosser! Says it all and tells you everything you need to know....

I agree Williams came across very respectful in his post fight interview. Credit to him

As a fellow annoyed Welsh fan, I was fvcking fuming last night. Williams was facing an unprofessional knob who came in over the weight and then stuck the head in when he was behind on points and could potentially have been stopped himself on cuts. Hearn is welcome to Liam Smith, I won't watch him on B0xnati0n again anyway (unless he's facing decent opposition, in which case he'll get hammered like all the Smiths do).

TOC needs to be put out to pasture as well.

Was texting my mate during the fights last night and he text to say 'TOC in charge that'll be the fight getting ruined' and he text this just as I was about to text him something similar. You look forward to a fight for ages then you see that helmet in the ring and it takes the wind right out your sails!

Can't remember doing this post

Absolute shambles last night. Blatant headclash (looked deliberate), TOC missed it, mass fights (instigated by the Smiths and fans) awful judging i thought Flanagan was a clear 116-112 rounds easy to score (Spanish fella from petrovs camp had to get restrained from going mental at officials)
I haven't watched anything back. Am I correct in what I remember or am I wrong? On my epic train journey to South Wales (5 hours)

Funnily enough that was my plan but found 3 good looking women back at my hotel bar.
Spent 2 hours talking to them to no avail (mate nudging me every 5 minutes that they had rings on and I had no chance)

Great post mate! :salut:

Absolute clear and deliberate headbutt from Smith in my opinion, so obvious you can hardly make a case for it being accidental, he had a little look then plunged in with his head. I may be a little biased being a resident of the Principality but that was a shocker from TOC and the Smiths won very few fans with their appalling behaviour last night and may have actually lost a few! :shame:

100% spot on. That headbutt from Smith saved one of the worst judges decision ever seen in a British ring. Smith was coming on stronger but he was about 5 clear rounds down. I'm certain Smith would have won the fight if it had gone points.

It was a disgrace. A disgrace of a fighter, disgrace of the corner, disgrace of a ref and a disgraces of the judges and by the sounds of a disgraceful fans too.

All round one of the worse fights in British boxing history!

Has there been any posts on how the press had the fight scored? I know in the past we have had how press and pros scored fights and compared them to actuals. 1 Point ahead on all cards sounds wrong but all 3 had the same. Smith did come forward a lot so maybe the scoring judges just preferred that style of fighting? There was some close rounds as well so again it is down to what they like I suppose?
Either way a rematch has to happen and Liam Smith came across very badly post fight with Williams gaining an awful lot of respect and new fans I would imagine.

Judges often get it wrong together

I only had Smith winning 2 rounds but, in the post fight interview, Williams admitted he was tiring and implied that he thought it was a close fight. He didn't seem too upset that he lost, which surprises me when most people, myself included, thought he was robbed.

The judges had him only 1 up? Well that's bollocks even the deluded scousers by me were struggling to give Smith more than 2-3 rounds.

Smith and the whole Gallagher tribe brought on a lot of the trouble goading people ringside.

Should be a rematch but can't see it

Too much of a nice guy for his own good in a way. Rather that than be a classless test like Smith and co though.
