It's a "ban who they feel like ban". From the case I know of it was a no questions asked ban, as there I no way any board would say this show was unsafe based on the evidence that could be provided. If they are going to the extreme lengths of banning a coach, who could potentially be in charge of the livelihoods of professional boxers, they should, maybe do a little bit more work.]

I think this is ripe for a restraint of trade claim. BBBoC cannot stop you earning a living. BBBoC is not supposed to be some little private members club. It is supposed to be the national boxing associate of Great Britain.

When it comes to white collar boxing, you've got to many different organisers to stop it going on now, with groups like WCBE in the north west, UWCB around the UK, the IBA sanctioning semi-pro bouts and the EBF (if they're still going). White collar event's are here to stay and they can get people involved in the sport, which is really what they should be doing.

As far as banning them outright, they can go to other organisations anyway. The BBBoC doesn't have the same control over British boxing it once did. With groups like B.I.B.A growing and the Boxing union of Ireland another option as far as Northern Ireland is concerned (maybe more in the UK) the BBBoC can't just stop people coaching or cornering a ranked fighter anymore.

Mate, I know UWCB is one of the biggest, but I saw a 6 4" man fighting a 5 7". Such a mismatch in size it was unreal.

i don't think the quality of the WCB stuff is as good.. white collar seems to still put on some sh*t but i have seen in some unlicensed, what they'd call "semi-pro" shows lately some really decent match ups.

Well, if some of you think the Boards decision is contrary to the law, take them on. If you care to be the license holder involved in an unlicensed show, and are subsequently suspended, get a lawyer and take them to court. By the way- gook luck with that! Others have tried , and once their lawyers had their pound of flesh they've been advised to drop the matter. But, carry on !

UWCB is no doubt dangerous. The other end of the spectrum is the Queensbury Boxing League, which is well run, of which the Board has happily licensed many of its past boxers.
