Bellew fight or a heavyweight title fight is the only route to be relevant
I didn't have Haye in the Top 10 prior to losing to Bellew and beating Bellew in a rematch wouldn't put him there either, but because of his star power it wouldn't take much for him to get a big opportunity.

No it wouldn't but its a big fight money wise. Bellew won and every belt holder wants to fight him.

Why wouldn't they? He'd be a cakewalk for all of them. They'd all have a massive size advantage over him, and he's just not that great to begin with skill-wise either.
Bellew is definitely an overachiever with what he's accomplished and what he brings to the table. Good for him to have had the success he's had. He knows his limitations too because he's like "Hell no" when someone asks him if he wants to fight Anthony Joshua

So you don't think Haye would be right back in mix with a dominate performance vs Bellew.

He would...because of his star power. Not because he'd actually be a deserving contender.

They happens a lot in this sport though. Star power gets the opportunity.

Daffy Duck is an absolute nobody in the heavyweights right now. Maybe he can lose some weight and fight as a cruiserweight, or in even lower divisions again. He's simply too slow and weak and small to be a serious heavyweight. The only chance he has is Deontay Wilder, fight him, win, and then he can move on to Briggs and at least make some fame that way, he'll look at least good on paper. And if it's 2020 by that time, Briggs would have won world titles in 4 different decades!

I think most care about Haye's route back about as much as Khan's or Povetkin's.
