He's certainly got the ability, but hasn't accomplished enough yet to nab the top spot. He'll be there within the next year or two, though.
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko is P4P #1
Well, like the saying goes, you guys need to remember to tuck you chin, but that might be hard with Lomo's nuts on it. Remember GGG was considered unbeatable until he fought Jacobs. Just saying.... I hope Lomo doesn't take that long to fight an elite opponent.
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko is P4P #1
You've got Wilder's balls, other people have Lomas's, it's all good
To be honest as a Golovkin fan, with just 9 fights I think Loma's best couple of wins arguably surpass GGG's, and if they don't they're at least around the same level.

GGG is still unbeaten. Just saying....Badhusker wrote:Remember GGG was considered unbeatable until he fought Jacobs. Just saying....

Walters going in and Russell are both right there with Jacobs P4P.Badhusker wrote: I hope Lomo doesn't take that long to fight an elite opponent.

..not caring that much who is the one and only, I'd say it's a pleasure watching him box..I wish he had a harder punch though..
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko is P4P #1
He certainly didn't look unbeatable, did he? Just saying...punchoutsb wrote:GGG is still unbeaten. Just saying....

Thank you Horse. That was my point, which seems to strike a nerve with some people. When you step up to the next level, the competition may make you look not so invincible.....as we saw in GGG's case.

I've never seen a fighter that looks unbeatable. A fighter has never existed that looks unbeatable every time out. GGG is still unbeaten whether fanboys on a forum thinks he looks unbeatable or not. Just saying....Horse wrote:He certainly didn't look unbeatable, did he? Just saying...punchoutsb wrote:GGG is still unbeaten. Just saying....
I don't have Loma #1, I don't have GGG #1. That being said, is there a fighter currently active that fits your definition of "invincible" or "unbeatable" or whatever other un-achievable terms you label them? Did you drop Floyd from the #1 spot because he didn't shut out Maidana? I certainly didn't.Badhusker wrote:Horse wrote:He certainly didn't look unbeatable, did he? No.
Because he looked good beating on limited Jason Sosa he suddenly gets elavated? We are not casual fans here.
Roman Gonzalez broke a compubox record for power punched landed in his last fight, but we'll ignore that because of some wacky judging lol.

Roman Gonzalez took significant beating in his last two fights. Barely anything was landed on Loma.marvelous marv wrote:No.

I don't have a number 1 at present, haven't had for a while...and the recent results/performances of some of my favourites have further muddied the water.
Lomachenko looks the most skilled fighter on the planet, but skills alone don't dictate p4p no1.
He's certainly in the mix with some of the others mentioned

Loma is unbelievable
I'd have him as p4p number 1 at the minute
Gonzalez still an amazing fighter though

Roman is fighting a top 3 opponent four weight classes above where he won his first world title at 105.boxing_rocks wrote:Roman Gonzalez took significant beating in his last two fights. Barely anything was landed on Loma.marvelous marv wrote:No.

That would be like Lomachenko dominating Crawford at 140. Not saying it can't happen but, do it first, then get the ranking.
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko is P4P #1
Was the size difference between Sor and Roman really that much?

Roman jumped at least one weight class to high. It is not just size, but also strength.crusader wrote:Was the size difference between Gonzalez and Roman really that much?
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko is P4P #1
The rankings have shifted dramatically with Frampton Santa Cruz, GGG Jacobs, Ward Kovalev 1 now 2, Thurman Garcia and Gonzalez losing it's all up in the air.
Lomachenko at best would be 7-9 P4P.

Frampton, Santa Cruz ??? What do they have to do with top p4p? Loma is clearly way above them, as well as above Thurman and Garcia.Evander wrote:The rankings have shifted dramatically with Frampton Santa Cruz, GGG Jacobs, Ward Kovalev 1 now 2, Thurman Garcia and Gonzalez losing it's all up in the air.

Frampton and LSC would be an easy work for Loma at 126, no doubt about that. He is also better than Thurman is literally every aspect of boxing.
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko is P4P #1
Let him stick around 130 for a bit and we can find out.boxing_rocks wrote:Frampton and LSC would be an easy work for Loma at 126, no doubt about that. He is also better than Thurman is literally every aspect of boxing.
