Podcasts and twitter is full of people saying that and talking about the/a "hidden side" to him.

Personally I think he may be, but probably isn't. I know some of his sponsors very well and they say he is a great guy. I also know a guy who has trained with him and been in a few promo videos with him, sponsored by same firm and he says the same, decent guy to hang out with.

Truth lies in the middle probably. Same as all of us, decent enough but a bit of a prick at times but tries not to show that

Nah he's just a normal bloke, yeah he was a bit naughty when he was younger, I think it's more the constant pushing of "I grew up here, I still live here, I'll never change" Ricky Hatton type spiel that annoys people, being fans of the sport for decades it becomes tiresome to us but the casual crowd who really bring the big bucks for these fights lap it up and it works.

I had to stop watching. If you're enthralled by "urban" culture and patter you'll enjoy. I'm not in the AJ demographic.

So, was this as bad as first anticipated? I've got it recorded but I'm scared to watch. Half an hour of behind the ropes last night was a cheese OD!

I saw it and found it difficult to warm to Joshua and his team. Don't know why. Everything seemed rather shallow.

Some of the footage immediately after the Whyte fight was quite interesting. One of his team commented: "They don't call him the bodysnatcher for nothing" to which Joshua replied, "It felt like he was snatching my soul."

Definitely seems a cool and composed character though. Reminds me a little of Lennox. I.e. a bit boring and very much unfazed by everything.

A question for anyone else who saw it: was he sparring Joe Joyce? And was that Joyce outrunning him on the track?

It was alright. Nothing special, but it made AJ look very human. It showed him struggling a bit early on in the camp, and showed that Dillian Whyte's body punches hurt him, as stated by Dixonian.

I thought it was okay, and pretty genuine. I think a lot of people had made their minds up before they watched it, which means they were never going to like it. I enjoyed it, and thought it was good to see the real Joshua, or at least a little less of the media trained Joshua anyway. Great to see the dressing room after the fights. That was interesting.

I always found Lewis was Mr Script and very very rarely strayed from it, or was able to stray from it. AJ has the street verbals and is very articulate to boot.

I don't see too much of whom he is as an act.

Not seen it all but was a decent watch. Was good to see him fail jumping on that wall.

He comes across as a nice guy who knows he has struck gold. I have np doubt he is a bit of nasty guy, maybe his time inside helped focus his aggression

I think you're right. He does have a little more edge and clearly likes to enjoy himself.

Just finished watching, I liked it.

There's an element of him which reminds me of a guy in the town I grew up in called Big Ger, massive tough fecker, a good laugh but a proper nasty bit of work and could turn in a second, I witnessed give him some serious beatings to people for almost nothing. I sense AJ has/had that potential if not doing what he's doing.

Good on him tho', not all kids can grow up and become heavyweight Champion of the World but he has the right attitude to things about discipline, how he treats those close to him and seems a good laugh.

Nice treat he sorted for Sean too.

Lewis just seemed like a stiff, socially awkward man who was very good at boxing. I don't think he was ever working from a script, he usually had a grabbag of phrases he had borrowed from someone else for each fight.

Neither him or AJ have any charisma, but AJ is far more at ease in front of a camera. Lewis had bags more natural instinctive boxing talent.

He made some interesting comments you're right. When he mimicked himself when he was hurt was rather revealing. And to me unexpected. Maybe he's just looking for laughs but, it was odd seeing him being so honest. I didn't even think it was that great a shot having watched a few times.

It made me be less hostile to him (whereas I probably hate Hearn more, setting him try and hang with the 'yout' - like the rich kid at school that no-one really likes, but the cool kids let him hang out as he has all the latest PlayStation games and buys everyone chicken and chips instead of school lunch.)

I think Joshua is not a bad guy, but not that intelligent and not that humble.... Yes is like a young man still a bit weirded out that suddenly he is one of UK' s most famous stop sports men.....

I still want him to lose, because of Hearn and the hype machine which will become even more unbearable if he dominates Wlad.... overall I thought it made Joshua more likeable..

PS one thing that weirded me out was his 3 hangers on who must be on the payroll but don't seem to do anything except nut hug.

He's no Jon Jones thats for sure. Jones was a rich boy, from a well off family, with 2 elite NFL brothers, who was groomed as the 'face' of MMA. He then got nicked for DD with 2 16 years old girls and a load of coke in the car. Was involved in a hit n' run with a pregnant woman, where after initially running, he actually ran back to the car to get his stash of coke, and then ran off again. He then failed drug test for coke, and then failed another for steroids. He was only 25, and was #1 P4P in MMA. AJ has some way to go to become Mr Nasty.
