Let's get this straight Hearn is a bit of a nob. I critisize him here regularly.
However he is brilliant at promoting fights (sky take credit too )and no one else in boxing can touch him at doing that.
People will slate Don King ( and rightfully so ) but he was a class promoter in his time as well.

Regardless of the reasons behind Sky going with Hearn he's proved them right. His shows look unbelievable.
Less than ten years ago Warren was putting fights on Sky Box Office, he was promoting the vast majority of top level UK boxers, and was getting the pick of new signings. If Joshua had boxed at the 2004 Olympics he'd have probably signed with Warren, but times change and promotors need to move with it.

I think the booing was partly down to it being such an amazing fight and also AJ and Wladimir talking so eloquently straight after...
No one really wanted to hear from hearn and it was daft to put the mic in his face.

It was a great show because the headline fight delivered more than anyone could have dreamed. If it had been a dull affair, would Hearn be getting the praise he is now? Its funny how people react to single events and make conclusive judgements.
He is a good promoter, and very good for British boxing. He has taken us out of the Warren era of holding our elite fighters back from the world scene. Hearn looks after his boxers and gets them into the big fights, they get well paid, and the opportunities they desire he tries to deliver. Its a win win for his boxers, and good for us fans.
He is not perfect, but name me a single promoter in the history of boxing that was.

Hearn has been great for boxing. I've never met him. But as a boxing fan I think we should see him as positive for the sport.

yeah hearn has been brilliant for boxing in the UK. if fwank had AJ he'd be WBO champ now and lining up a series of obscure east europeans to get to 30-0.

To me Hearns is like an old set of scales with weights on each side.
He has positives on one side and negatives on the other side sometimes the positives out weigh the negatives, but then it is the other way round. It is constantly changing.
That said I don't think Frank would have done much different in the same situation probably worse actually.

NOBODY gave a f*ck here about this fight.

Bravo Eddie Hearn. Us TRUE boxing fans owe you a lot.
More likely Sky's decision to go with one promoter a few years back was the catalyst. Hearn was the 'lucky', chosen one.
Was he chosen for a reason though?
I have no problem with people disliking Hearn - or anyone else. I'm just one of those people who likes everyone unless they do something bad to me.
I've been watching fights for over forty years. I like Hearn. Best of luck to him
I'm sure he was chosen for a reason and it's worked for them but it doesn't mean it wouldn't have worked with allegedly or Maloney if they had been given the same platform. Given their histories I don't see why not.

I don't disagree with the sentiment but I think the investment in the last few Olympics and it's knock on effect on the amateurs has been the biggest factor.
There's always been a market for boxing here but there hasn't always been the talent coming through to match it.

Warren had Box Office fights for years and it ultimately didn't work. You can't put Khan v Fagan and Audley v Rogan on Box Office, directly opposite Froch v Pascal on normal TV, and expect people to buy it.

Well at least if Hearn ever mentions that his promotion now held the record for UK fight in from of Froch, Carl can update his own catch phrase thus:
"Ehdeh, do you remember when you got booed at Wembley stadium after the Klitschko-Joshua fight in front of 90,000 people?...........never happened to me."

Well Eddie is now the holder of the WMBB (Worlds Most Booed Man) title regardless.
I like Eddie and whats he's done for the sport with the help of the Sky machine. What I do resent though is every fight needing to be a PPV to 'make the numbers' .
That fight last night would have done 25 million on terrestrial TV, getting near the Ali/Frazer fight, and surpassing Benn vs Eubank. For comparison an X factor final done 20million. Literally every man and his dog would have watched it. Is that better than 800k buys?
What is a guaranteed 20million views worth these days?

There are some truly miserable and negative posters on this forum. Who find something to moan about even when British fighters are getting much closer to their potential than in the Warren era.

I think it was pantomime stuff myself.
Promoters, agents etc are seen as being a bit spivvey and a natural target for pantomime boo's, a bit like ref's in footy.
Eddie is very good at his job and comes across quite well tbh, seems like he'd be a laugh to have a bevvy with.

If AJ was with a cetain other promoter , we would of seen him in with Audley the other night and A promise of a mouth watering matchup with Hughie Fury if he comes through it.. Hearns may be a up himself twat , who thinks he's bigger than the boxers , but he understands the public don't want boxing matches especielly between 2 even bantamweights , they want EVENTS , they want to feel like theve been to a rock concert , got smashed , put the candy up there nose, perved on someone elses sheila , with big tits , prancing around like Kim Kardashian .
Hearns understands this and he delivers . He brings in the casual fan who wants an occasion to go to ,, that brings the money which makes the stars .
But what i do like about Hearn is he has been saying for a while now that oncde at the top , if they want the big paydays they will have to put there balls on the line , the days of ducking are over ,, and for that Mr Hearn i commend you

I doubt if Eddie will be giving much of a fvck about the boos today.
The way the fight unfolded was a promoters dream. AJ has been shot into superstardom overnight and Hearn will make fortunes on the back of it which I believe is what every promoter is trying to do.

He caught up with the times. Bunny was very slow to take up social media marketing and matchroom went into it heavy.
Lots of tweets and the odd interaction with Joe public does so much more than an advert in boxing monthly as it reaches the rest of the world and makes people feel part of the event.
