Atlas crapped all over the Joshua-Klitschko Fight... Neither is an American so that was not surprising... He said fights like that happened all the time back in the day.. and he compared it to the Foreman Lyle fight.. Really??? George and Ronnie walked into punches.. That was a couple of 4th graders swinging. No footwork.. no defense.. no setting anything up.. no body shots or slick uppercuts.. The winner was decided on who was the less exhausted of the pair which happened to be George.

Why do you think this is? Did he just forget? Is he just biased against the present? Is he one of those "back in my day.....things were unbelievable, and nowadays they do not have any of the skill"? He seems like a smart guy at times, so its strange to see this strong bias without even explaining deeply why the 'old days' were so great. Happens all the time when it comes to old Basketball players in the NBA. They all think they would average at least 30% + more today then the 'great' old days.

In this treacherous sport Atlas has always been on the side of the boxers. His rants against poor judges are legion.

I always looked at is as torture. To have to listen too Atlas Commentary For a entire 3 hours or so on ESPN. I can only handle so much.

Teddy Atlas is awful in so many ways.... as a boxer, as a commentator, as a trainer. He was lucky to be associated with Tyson and that made his reputation. Luck. Chance.

Atlas is also a liar who retells (fake) stories to make him look good and tough. He's a total bum and a fake

He's a verbal bully who screams at people and they get tired of it.. People love strong leaders, but with Atlas it gets old pretty quick.. He'll never change and a lot of times he's not making a lick of sense. But instead of raising his ire by disagreeing with him (he's supposed to be the expert) his colleges genuflect and move on. There's a lot of punch drunk rowdies in neighborhood bars who know as much as Teddy Atlas.

My guess is he voted for Donald Trump.

I actually admire Teddy for standing up for his opinion even when unpopular, or not PR.
Bernard is used to get a free leash by the medias to promote his achievements and regularly goes overboard.

I've actually never seen someone stand up to Bernard's bullshit mano o mano, win the argument without a doubt and shut him up like Atlas did.

What I saw in that interview was Teddy getting called out for being wrong on a prediction he made and trying his best to discredit Hopkins opponent after the fact. If Teddy knew the shortcomings of Pascal, why did he predict a win for Pascal? It was not until after Bernard won that Teddy starts on about how a 70 year old could have avoided those shots. So, Bernard was right that he made Pascal fight his fight. Teddy was just trying to save face. Douche move.

He certainly wasn't screaming about top guys taking mismatches and ducking big fights when he was with Povetkin.

I can appreciate that quality. But it is misplaced a lot of times. Simply put, he will not admit being wrong. And if he does, there is always a "but...". Dude, just shut up.

In that instance, in the case above Teddy was wrong. Wrong points can be argued to look right. Happens all the time. And it fools some people. Atlas had picked Pascal to win because he thought he had the tools to beat Hopkins. Hopkins proved him wrong. Atlas is acting like Pascal fights like he did against Hops all the time. Hops made him fight like that. End of story. Just because Atlas won't let things go and can potentially argue better than Hopkins doesn't make him right.
