Its fair enough from their point of view because Hearn is a promoter and Haye is still a boxer so if people are willing to pay to see it then it can easily happen. Haye would maybe have to prove his fitness by coming through a Bellew rematch say but if he managed that then I think it would definitely happen and I would definitely watch it. Who wouldn't?
^^ pretty much sums it up for me ^^

Really don't understand all the hate for Haye.

Yeah he's overfond of himself but what champion boxer isn't. His record when he was a full time boxer speaks for itself and in his pomp he was a wonderful talent. Now he's a shot, old, half sleb half boxer he's just trying to manoeuvre himself into position for one last big mega payday - nout wrong with that.

I think Haye's already had his last big payday out of Bellew, but you never know. I agree one half-decent win on his return and you could see it happening at some point. He has a massive amount to prove fitness wise though.

Last chance saloon for Haye, I'm sick of his talk now, each overhyped letdown tarnishes his early career positives furhter, until all we'll remember is this bullshitty blagger who talked his way into big fights he didn't deserve.

He did deserve the Wlad fight, he just didn't perform. He was a good Cruiser and he should have stayed there for at least 3 or 4 years, he was in a rush and he paid the price with the injuries and strain it put on his body.

The Bellew fight was a joke, as was his "comeback". Haye is NOT a Heavyweight.

Yeh I guess I'd rephrase to 'talked himself into big fights then mostly didn't deliver'. Even the Valuev fight was a bit lame. He just didn't deliver as a heavyweight, I agree he wasn't and isn't big enough in frame to be a heavyweight, he just went there for the money. No shame in that but he's starting to get embarassing now trying to talk himself back into the mix when he hasn't had a good win of ANY note for many years.

Yeah I agree with what you say, I don't feel sorry for him at all, still think he bullshitted the fury fight when he looked him in the eyes, too big!!

If he'd stayed at Cruiser he would have been a legend, now people see him as a bullshitter, aw well. C'est la vie and aw that!

Haye has done nothing at heavyweight. He beat Valuev for the title who lost to a 95 year old Holyfield in his previous fight. He didn't do anything in the Wlad fight and he got stopped by a guy who could make super middleweight if he laid off the pies.

I don't think he's in a position to expose any heavyweights "weaknesses".

Who's the super middle he got stopped by?

Surely not Bellew! He looked like he'd been training in Auschwitz back when he was at light heavy! As for the "stopped" bit...

Haye has a couple of good wins at heavy imo. Valuev is a decent win and his best win was Ruiz I think. His heavyweight career does have a hint of smoke and mirrors though. Joshua would hurt him now. The worry is Hearn convinces Joshua that a £10m+ payday for beating up old man Haye is the way to go!

in all honesty, haye has the power to hurt anyone in the division if he lands clean. yes he is not what he was, but he will still have the 'powa'

Haye looked terrible even before the injury occured against Bellew. Also where was his much vaunted power there? He didnt look close to stopping the fat Cruiserweight.

I think Joshua would hurt him badly.

Nah, he hits hard though.
There's no way he walks through Haye's bombs. It's a physiological impossibility. But the point is moot: Haye's body can't survive training camp.

Give him a break; talking is all he's good at these days. :D

It's a shame that all that talk didn't lead to the acting career he was banging on about in 2010, otherwise he wouldn't be here seven years after claiming he'd retire, boring us all to distraction.

I'm sure there are other things Haye can go & do with his life.

He's a blessed guy; he's got money; he's handsome & he has a good physique, so there must be a myriad of opportunities for a guy like him.

He achieved more than most people who ever lace up the gloves, so he can he rightly proud of his career when he looks back.

I wouldn't call it hate, more disillusionment.

Haye has every right to try & maximise his opportunities, but he shouldn't do it whilst trying to con fight fans, otherwise, we have the right to call him out on it, as we are paying his wages effectively.

The fact that Haye , a shopworn cruiser , and Bellow a pumped up lightheavy , are being spoke about has heavyweights , is just a incication of how poor the heavyweight scene is and has been for some time .

How does Haye and Bellew indicate anything about the heavyweight division? They're irrelevant to the heavyweight landscape.

Yes he's a liability even more so for a heavyweight PPV.

:TU: Similar to what I was about to post.

Their only relevance to the HW div at this time is who is going to step up and pole axe them into retirement? In the case of Bellew it would appear that Parker might get the job, although I think that they would both prefer to do another circus act rematch.

Because one has a belt and the other should'nt even be boxing , and people are talking about them at heavyweight .

As bad as Haye looked against Bellew(and he did look poor even before the achilles went completely) it'd be a completely different set up against Joshua and so he would pose danger.

Against Bellew, Haye came in fully expecting to simply blow Bellew away. He went in angry but arrogant and thought he could just walk in and flatten Bellew. He had no respect for Tony, didn't feel he posed a threat so he didn't box, he just came in loading up like a angry p*sshead swinging for the fences in a street corner dust up. He also came into the fight injured(you don't take overseas trips for fun days before a fight)

Because of that mindset he struggled to connect with anything proper against Bellew. So tight and wound up his punches could be seen coming from a mile off and Bellew boxed sensibly and bided his time. Then the achilles went properly and the rest is history.

If Haye can get back to fitness and if he ever faced Joshua he'd come in with a totally different mindset. He'd not come in full of arrogance. Instead he'd come in with a plan to be totally elusive and strike with a counter bomb when/if the opportunity presented itself......Totally different set up mentally to the way he came in against Bellew.

But first off can Haye regain his fitness? And secondly even if he does he'll not land a Joshua fight because there is at this point nothing in it for Joshua since Haye just lost to Bellew. His credibility is on the floor at the moment. Its a high risk, low reward fight for AJ and so its understandably just not on the agenda.

Haye's only chance to land a Joshua fight and the chance to leapfrog back to the top of the sport, is if he can get his hands on one of the big 4 world titles and make himself a factor again. Don't know how much money he has or how much Ringstar has in the coffers, but they'll have to dig very deep to get anybody relevant to fight him and give him the chance to regain some status.

I think Haye is basically out in the cold now. But on a purely fistic level assuming Haye can recover from injury....I think he'd have the beating of both Parker and Wilder, and he'd pose a genuine threat against Joshua. But can he recover from injury and will he ever get a chance at the big time again?

I'm not really sure about the whole thing with Haye's body breaking down. His Achilles went, but that happens. Has it happened to him before? He had surgery to repair his shoulder but as far as I'm aware there hasn't been any bother with it since.

Promoters will still want to deal with him. Haye isn't a Fury type; namely problematic to deal with and a history of no shows whilst selling no tickets. Haye does good business and a fight between him and Joshua makes a lot of sense if he gets fit.

I think we need to accept Joshua is going to have reasonably straightforward fights from time to time if he keeps winning. It's not like he's going to get to 23-0 having fought Wilder, Pulev, Parker and Fury and then just retire.
