Thats a little harsh on Murray to be fair, he's always come in on the weight and gave it his all, was very unlucky not to have won a world belt in his career and is still a real pro, unlike Smigga. A draw with Sturm in Germany, a razor thin decision defeat to Maravilla in Argentina (which he should have won imo) and he was the first to take a prime GGG deep into the 'championship rounds' before the inevitable stoppage but he was still on his feet. Ok he's no Julian Jackson but there have been many far inferior boxers than Martin Murray who've picked up versions of a world title.

I know what you're saying.
But it's a disservice putting the 2 in the same sentence.
Murray earned his way into contention, showed he was a fringe world level fighter and came so very close on more than one occasion against the very best.
And to top it off, at absolutely any point in their careers he's have knocked fvck out of Smigga

I wasn't saying Murray was in the same league as Paul Smith. Merely pointing out they've both had several title opportunities and come up short. I know that Martin Murray is significantly better than Smith.

I agree why is everyone going to give Shiite. What he suppose to turn the opportunity down. Blame the WBA for having him so high.

Not deserved, but if Smith does win then it is easily his best win and you could say he would then warrant a shot at a "proper" world championship fight - like the winner of Groves' next fight.

Yes, its the easiest world title and he's taken the path of least resistance to get the shot, but Zeuge is not bad at all and is a lot more worthy WBA regular champion than those fighting for the vacant WBA regular Heavyweight belt in the summer. If Smith wins then he's a least finally proven himself at Euro level and fringe World class and I hope then some of the flack he does get will be reduced.
