I dont care what anybody says and yes he is green but tank should face the king asap!!!

Me neither, not since Pacquiao's pre-random testing era. (his prime)

Because you never heard of Naseem Hamed.

Or marquez, barrera, morales, etc..

The reason I think Davis is good... Liam Walsh beat Andrey Klimov easier than Terence Crawford beat him -- so I thought he might last 6 or 7.
Davis isn't just a Tyson-like short stuff who absorbs terrific punches and then runs over you like a tank.. Good boxers with real power will eventually beat down fighters like Tyson.. But Davis can box pretty well for the amount of experience he has -- and most fighters with tremendous power can't box worth a damn.. They don't get the rounds to learn that much.. Anybody who says Davis is another Jeff Lacy doesn't know a damned thing..
Davis is like a small Anthony Joshua except he's lacking in height.. He has speed, power, developing skills, and comes with a brain attached.

Who said that GTank "is another Jeff Lacy?" On a side note; did anyone think that Liam Walsh is another CalSlappy?

You had some Brits saying that... Lacy was an undefeated American who was destroyed by a Brit so it's a big item with them... They also claim Spence is another Jeff Lacy.. There's no Lacy in him either.. Is there some Lacy in Brook? ... That's the question.
I've never heard Liam Smith compared to Joe Calzaghe.. I don't think he has the speed or elusiveness for it.. And JC wasn't likely to fight anyone like Davis

So the 22 year old Gervonta Davis scores a quick impressive KO over the only recognisable name on his resume, Liam Walsh, who himself has never beaten any notable opponent in their prime that is worth talking about, but people are already making bold proclamations about the ‘Tank’ possessing power comparable to all-time-greats?
Seriously?
Are we not being a tad premature comparing Gervonta Davis’ punches to the likes of Naseem Hamed, Henry Armstrong, Sandy Saddler, Danny Lopez etc?
This fúckíng forum sometimes makes me want to clench by ársé cheeks out of pure embarrassment for those that don’t realise the pure utter absurdity of their claims.

This is not the first time a FW fighter built a seemingly good record before coming unstuck when an elite level fighter arrived (Cleverly vs Kovalev springs to mind).
Davis may well go on to be a fabulous world champion, but drawing "ATG" conclusions from this alone is a bit much.
Cleverly was never any good... Never had any power. Never had any technique... He was another Hilmer Kenty... another John Stracey... another Paul Pender
Davis is actually good... He's going to be around for a long, long time -- unfortunately, because he's going to be ducking around like crazy.
My Comparison was not between Davis and Cleverley.
It was between Walsh and Cleverley. My point being that knocking out someone who had a record padded be inferior foe on the way to a FW favourite WBO world title does not qualify someone as ATG

What?
They both have decent power, have arms, legs and a head...that is about where the similarity ends. Their fighting style is vastly different.
Davis is a front foot fighter, throws a lot of shots, mainly hooks, and has ostensibly what you might call a "pro style". AJ is upright, throws straight punches whenever he can, is relatively patient and likes to counter. All of his flash combinations and the much vaunted uppercut only come out to play when he has an opponent hurt.

Just said on another thread that I'd love to see him and Loma ASAP. You need to strike while the iron is hot in this game. It doesn't need to wait it's a fantastic fight right now.
I wouldn't put him against Loma yet. Loma would school him now like he did with Russell. I think they will eventually meet in the lightweight division a couple of years from now.

If I was part of the Davis team then you're right there's no way I'd put him in with Loma just now but as a fan these are the fights I want to see and the sooner the better IMO. Both title holders and both the best in that division so just go for it.
