I do but he's boiling himself down from just having fought at 160. That combined with Spence being incredibly hyped as the next big star of boxing.

I'd have a hard time writing off a 27 year old for losing to a fighter of Brooks caliber in any fashion.

I certainly wouldn't write him off, but my rating of him would drop. Doesn't mean he's not a good fighter, but he wouldn't have lived up to the expectations...

Isn't that writing him off?

No, because lowering my opinion of him doesn't mean that I no longer believe he's a good fighter who will be a significant player in the division.

He's hyped off a few peformances and sparring stories. I watched Crawford and then watched a fight of Spence immediately after , either Crawford is underrated or Spence is overrated. I would even say Brook might be faster than Spence.

From what i've seen- both Crawford and also Andrade at 154 are better southpaws.

Spence seems to have a leaky defence.

I mean saying he didn't live up to expectations. He'd have plenty of career left. I expect him to win, so a somewhat one-sided loss would be surprising to me too.

I think Crawford is the best fighter in the world, andrade is crazy overrated. Errol would thrash him.

I think the weight drop is going to be an issue for Brook later on. He might feel great now but I think he's going to be drained later on & will get stopped on his feet.

Hope I'm wrong though

I can think of a few fighters who moved up then back with bad results but not too many where it worked out.

Few were :OhYes:

I was at a boxing show in London the day after he lost to Jeff Harding (I think it was their 3rd fight. It had gone the distance & was in Hammersmith). Anyway, he looked as fresh as a daisy. Honeyghan was there too. Looking like a proper pimp

The wild card in all of this though is whether Spence has the defense and the chin to get to the part of the fight where the weight drain will take full effect on Brook. What I have seen of Spence shows him taking shots from featherdusters that could mean queasy street v Brook.

Spence has never dealt with anyone close to Brook's combination of skills, and gifts. While it is true that the same can be said, that Brook has not faced anyone with Spence's combination of skills and gifts, Kell has faced someone bigger and stronger, with extremely heavy hands, and he has faced an inside game monster.

Spence is completely skipping the Porter level of competition, which is no minimal risk. He is going to the UK where a relatively close decision will be expected to go Brook's way. He has never met anyone of Brook's speed, power, mobility, strength and experience.

The great confidence / large cajones meet reality in the ring in short order now. I see the keys being the Brook weight drain and the true level of Spence's beard.

I still haven't decided which way this goes.

I hope I'm wrong and state this with no degree of confidence but often you see fighters punch resistance get worse when coming back down in weight.
I think spence lands big early and gets brook out of there in 2 or 3 rounds, although I can see almost any other outcome.
