Shawn Porter has many flaws

Porters started boxing rather late. I believe he was 17 or 18. He played football and wrestled before that. He is certainly not as skilled as Mayweather and Pacquiao. He is however very strong and always in tremendous condition. Because he is short for the weight class he has to fight on the inside otherwise he would get picked apart at long range. I personally find his style to be ugly. I don't like watching maulers. Having said that, he has developed a style that works for him and he has made some good money in the game.

Porter is a classic overachiever who wills his way to success. I like his style. I like it when grinders like Porter challenge boxers to deal with adversity.

Have you notice if u ever watch a Shawn Porter fight,how awkward the fights become.It's like ever fight he has fought recently has become to a wrestling match are clinch fest as well as many head butts as well.He has looked very unskilled in some past fights,fighting all wild & bull rushing opponents on the inside,trying to smother there punches.He also hasn't been landing accurate & clean punches on the inside nor from distance.If he's Father is the cause of this,then he definitely needs a new trainer.

Shawn Porter is one of the dirtiest fighters i've seen in many years. Don't let his "aw shucks" interviews after the fight deter you from the truth. Shawn Porter purposely uses his head as a weapon inside the ring and the ref's have allowed him to get away with it all. I have no problem with a fighter being reckless and pushing the action but when he leads with the head as obviously as Porter does and so many cuts are caused by his head, that's where I draw the line. His fights are unwatchable with just ugly clinches and unclean exchanges.

I personally think that promoters are CRAZY for putting any of their top fighters inside the ring with Porter. Why risk you fighters health on a dirty fighter that is allowed to do the things that Porter has been able to do inside that ring. No thanks. That's not boxing what is going on inside that ring when Shawn Porter is inside it. Screw him and his Dad.
