There was some guy on youtube (i know, i know) saying that he was stabbed by the ex boyfriend of his fiance/wife and that it was covered up.

No idea if that was total bullshit though.

You aren't too far from the truth. Not bang on, but right ball park.

So it wasn't a gay thing then as was rumoured?

Dominic Ingle says it's broken, Kell Brook says he's had a CT scan (not an x-ray?). This isn't evidence, it's hearsay.

Looking back, Golovkin was the cash out fight. The damage done surely must play a part in this fight against Spence.

Brook won a lot of the early rounds for me but looked to slow and tire too easy - looked old to me.

Spence didn't look like the next undisputed champ either.

Was it bad management putting him in with Golovkin? Or was it just Kell cashing out at the end of his career? Hard to see where he goes now after suffering 2 bad injuries on his eye sockets and carrying the leg injury.
Cash out is definitely the word. But, maybe he wouldn't have done it if Khan would've challenged him instead of the suicide mission vs Alvarez, and if Eubank Jr hadn't negotiated out if the Golovkin fight. In other words if all the right people from the right weight classes, rather than the wrong ones, would just fight each other.

Brook badly needed have focused 100% on his title, and his mandatory, at his own weight and might not have been in this mess.

Well he made £4 million for the GGG bout, that money was Eubank's before he refused to sign it.

As for the Spence fight, all IBF Mandatory challenges are 75/25 split to the Champ, so I'd daresay that he made more than £2.5 mill.

Worth mentioning that braver guys than Brook gave up in the middle of a fight after being jabbed in the eye, Benn (v Watson) and Carl Thompson (v Crawford Ashley).

But obviously those two made up for it going to the well many, many times.

i dont think he should have fought until his eye was irreparably damaged, im disputing how bad the injury was in the first place,- the corner didnt think it was that bad, the ref didnt think it was that bad, and the doctor was never asked to look at it.

And yes of course he should have fought until he was knocked out thats the whole point, you give it your all until you are stopped or the fight is stopped by an official. If you arent willing to do that you shouldnt get in the ring and you certainly shouldn't be on ppv.

Imo i think brook could of survived the last 4 and a half mins without taking that much more damage to his cheek,he took the easy way out, maybe he is comfortable financially now and since his "0" has gone and he became world champion he has reached his potential. Maybe his heart isnt in it now his bank balance is in a healthy state,to headline 3 or 4 ppv events GGG,Spence and gavin, dont know if there was another,he has made his millions and become a little too soft centered maybe? Iv always thought brook is great when he is allowed space and nit in with anyone on or near his level and always thought he hasnt got out of 2nd gear cause he didnt need to but after the carson jones first fight i just thought maybe he hasnt got 3rd or 4th gear maybe he just has 1st and 2nd. When he fought shawn porter he held porter most of the fight so porter couldnt really be that aggressive so it wasnt till GGG that we found out he hasnt really got any other gears than 2nd. He is good for 4 rounds but when his opponent can take what he is giving out he doesnt know what to do,just my opinion

benn didnt take a knee he was knocked down after emptying his tank he also got up but the fight was waived off because he looked like he was completely gone. I think he got caught in the eye shortly before and turned away, but he then carried on fighting. Exhaustion beat benn. And this is where my critique of brook is, he just didnt want to dig as deep.

I dont know about the cat one.

What did you want to seek, Brook sparked out and blind in one eye? Do you think you were entitled to that for your 17 quid?

I feel the same finn, brook took the knee and was happy to be counted out and lose his title rather than dig deep and find a way to either get to the end or knock spence out, this is what the elite/world champions do. How many times has james toney been down on score cards and been out boxed for 10/11 rounds then knocks them out? Benn gets a mention against watson but if i was to mention benn in defence of brook id mention collins but to compare benn and brook is ludicrous, how many times has benn dug deep and come out on top? Now how many times has brook dug deep? I cant remember one fight were brook has had to dig deep and come out on top, maybe carson jones 1

I think brook is great at dishing it out,i think he believes in his own power but when it doesnt come off he becomes unstuck, obviously he has got bottle cause he is a professional boxer and went 30 odd fights unbeaten but like i say when its an equal fight with a guy with the same skill or better he struggles, its just my opinion on him as a boxer.

He beat Porter who many would say is his equal.

You're right there was more to it, it was a Watson right in the eye, Benn turned away... then had one last surge, went down from a jab.

Thompson absolutely gave up against Crawford

Yeah it looks that way.

I think the first Carson Jones fight told us a lot about his vulnerabilities. Faded late, injured nose, almost lost it (could easily have been a draw) then blamed in weight making or poor preparation. (Excellent fight, though.)

Some of you guys make me laugh. You can tell the dicks that have never, ever taken a punch in their lives, outside of the haymaking efforts of a pub drunk or at best a schoolboy amateur when 'they did a bit of boxing'.

It's always great from an armchair to say who should do what.

It wasn't white collar, it wasn't school-boy or novice amateurs, it was a two fornicating pros who know how to punch and did punch for 11 rounds.

Get a grip keyboard pricks.

mate, i had my eye socket broken in a pub fight in 1991. i went and had a couple more pints after, and three of my fingers were broken too.

brook bailed out plain and simple, he didn't want it. he embarrassed himself, he was being paid millions to fight and he decided to stop because he was hurt. he basically tapped out like those mma pussies.

Yes Veriton,

Did you catch the name of the girl that 'broke' your eye-socket?

Are you seriously comparing your war-story to the fight between Brook and Spence?

What a prick.
