3rd. JP on back foot. EA jabbing, JP overhand counter rights. Neither landing much. Last 30 seconds EXPLODES and they're both winging away although neither landed too much. Woke the f*cking crowd up though

4th. EA edging forward, landing jabs. Catching JP more & more now. JP trying to counter. JP has decent jab but rarely throws it.

More jabs from EA, more clinches from JP. JP warned by Ref. EA lands nice body shot

5th. Nice start from EA. Lovely lancing jabs. JP tries a bit more, trying to command centre of ring. Slower round although none hi intensity. Just bursts here & there. Double jab from EA starting to hurt JP.

6th. More jabs & 1-2s from EA. Taking JP to school now. EA looks much more powerful than his KO record suggests. Nice little flurry from JP. Tries to throw more but doesn't faze EA. Crowd starting to boo. Neither throwing too much but EA landing A LOT more.

8th. I stopped drinking on June 1st & now have bronchitis so it's strange to watch boxing sober. JP doing a lot more this round. Landed a few round house rights. Double left hook too. EA back to jabbing. Busiest round of fight so far for JP. Lands a few to body. JPs best round although gets caught with left uppercut to solar plexis near end.

SHO has it 78-74 to EA I think

9th. EA starts big. Lands 1-2 on corner, JP holds again. Nice right from EA. Lovely flurry + uppercut from EA dips JPs knees but JP comes back. Its a fight!!! Both landing. JP trying hard landing but not seeming to hurt EA. JP back to ropes & its back to normal. Decent round. JP must know he's behind.

JP needs KO to win.

10th - I was wrong about scoring. Unofficial is 87-84 after 9 to EA although he said EA rounds are big whereas JPs small.

Back to jab show from EA. Lovely counter left from JP shakes EA with 20 secs to go. Flurry from JP. He may have won that round based on that. EA wins 2 1/2 minutes of round with jab then JP lands big counter & maybe round.

11th. I'm not scoring but feel EA is about 4 rounds up. Nice right from EA has JP shrugging. EA controlling early with jabs again while JP looks to counter. JP now jabs (rare) neither throwing much. JP does his late rounds flurry. He reminds me of Tyson with black shorts & trying to bob & weave in while throwing uppercuts. OK, an older Tyson  I felt EA won that handily.

12. Slow start but lovely left hook catches JP on ropes. Wakes JP up a little. Jabs from EA. Snapping JPs head back. Nice 1-2 from EA. Jab. Controlling. JP must think its close on cards. JP tries right. Blocked. 30 secs left. Nice flurry from EA. JP does his late Tyson surge but EA takes it all & throws back.

I felt that EA won easily enough. At least 8-4 maybe more but I didn't score it so maybe the little late flurries get JP the fight. Would be a robbery in my opinion but I've seen worse :verysad:

Adonis v Fonfara

1st - fast start by AF. Moving forward, pumping out jab. AS countering. AS southpaw, lands a left & down goes AF halfway thru round,.

AS lands clubbing left. And another. 1-2 lands, another left. AS left is tearing AF up. AF nods. AF knocked back to ropes. Big left , and anorther and another. AF in corner, ref watching. AS battering AF bell. rings to save AF. Another 5 seconds & he would have been stopped.

2nd - Virgy Hunter ain't happy. First time he's ever shouted in his life

AS comes out & lands big over & over. AF can do f*ck to evade but is trying to get back. Hang on Hunter throws in the towel. It's all over. Seconds into the 2nd round.

I bet Fonfara is well chuffed he changed trainers. He was getting f*cking hammerd though.

But as it was stopped he just looked at Hunter and it looked like he was saying "What? I'm a boxer. This is what I do"

Watched some of Alvarez Bute. Didn't seem like that good a fight. Maybe because I wasn't watching it in good quality and the crowd was pretty lacklustre. Alvarez just doesn't seem to have that killer instinct which I think is required to dethrone Chickenson. He may do it though as Chickenson and his team have been delaying that fight for a while.

Watched Chickenson and he was just left hand happy. I can understand Virgil stopping the fight, it prevented Fonfara from a nasty KO.

Obviously didn't watch the fights but was nice to read through this morning :TU:

Seems like Stevenson could move into the 'elite' p4p bracket if he wants it?

Stevenson is a one armed fighter and you know what he's going to do but he has such long arms and can throw the left in different ways and at different angles. He always seems to find a way to land the left hand on his opponent and generally as soon as he touches someone with that left hand they are on their way to the canvas.

He's good I have never denied that. I love how he throws that left rangy uppercut from the outside. He could have established himself but he doesn't care.

The only interest in him I have is seeing him get smashed to bits. I can see him retiring before it happens though.
