Yeah its just something to tick off on his box and nothing more significant these days. Hes going to reign on and off for the next 8-9 years so a fight in vegas a fight in Madison Sq Garden he'll get round to it eventually.

Lennox Lewis is a devalued authority ever since his Price involvement. Plus Joshua is zillions of times more commercially viable and capable of pulling more from endorsements than Lewis did as a prizefighter........and lewis had Tyson,Holyfield and Bruno to give him a payday

If Briggs unifies, while Joshua fights his mandatories, they could set up a 3 way fight, one in the UK, one in US, latest one on a neutral spot if AJ didn't win them all yet.

They are both to scared to fight Tyrone Spong though.

Spong doesn't have a boxing belt as far as I know, beltholders simply refuse to fight him.

Why would a title holder even entertain the thought of fighting a nobody who's only had 8 fights. He's not fought anyone worth a solitary fukk. Perhaps if he starts fighting some guys with a pulse even at Euro level then more people will know who he is. I've only heard of him because of your incessant ramblings!

I think AJ doesnt need america but it would be good to say he has headlined in vegas or madison square garden or even tampa :TU: . I dont undestand why lewis is saying this because he didnt really crack america till he retired, the americans never took to him at all, probably cause he beat their man in seoul and he was/is canadian. People would turn up to see lewis lose.

I don't know, I don't care, it's him suggesting the idea, not me.
Nevertheless, I'm convinced he will accept those fights, like he will accept any fight, he's traveling all over the world to find opponents.
He now has 9 fights in 5 different countries, all ended in KO's, most in the first round.
Please note that he has always been champion of the world in kickboxing in all weightclasses he competed in, including heavyweight.
Spong ain't a joke or something, I'm just not sure if he can become it in heavyweight boxing as well.

What he's done in kickboxing has no bearing whatsoever on how his boxing career will progress. Forget the kickboxing.

I have no idea what you mean by that reply but I'm sure he'll be exposed in time as soon as he fights someone with a pulse :TU:

I hope for your sake he does do something worthwhile though. If he makes a Helen Hunt of it along with your AJ v Briggs trilogy tanking you'll need to end up following the darts :maybe:

I know that Briggs is no way near as good as AJ, but let's face it, he's close near a belt, is the only American out there with a pulse, so the only one out there who got a chance on this scenario.

Not to mention he's as far away from a belt as I am. Does anyone actually take this buffoon seriously?

Honest question, if boxing is far bigger here and draws more money then why didn't Floyd "Mayweather" money fight here and, if you argue that that was a different time why, Joshua-Wlad aside, do all the major fights take place in the US?

They have the tv money. In terms of ticket selling for big events we have to be up there. Thurman v Garcia fought recently and didn't even sell out! If that was two Brits of similar stature you'd have sold out a stadium easy. The money is in America but if AJ can sell out massive stadia over here and do the PPV numbers then he has no need to jump over the pond although he will at some point no doubt.

Wilder aside, there isn't any names over there to justify him making the leap just now. Even Wilder isn't popular out with his home state as far as I'm aware.

He might have a bit of trouble getting a visa, due to his drug conviction.

He was over there recently promoting the Wlad fight wasn't he? Should be ok I'd imagine. There's ways round these things.

I've always fancied Vegas one day but I have a criminal record. There's a guy I know through work that's a proper crook and he goes to Florida every second year and hasn't had any issues. I think it's just your luck. Also heard a story about a guy being turned away at the airport for something daft. Lost thousands of pounds on his holiday. No choice but to just go home out of pocket. Fukk that!

I never knew he was in the U.S promoting the wlad fight. But I do know that the yanks do not look too favourably on people with drug convictions, through personal experience.

I had some mates visit me last year and two have them have plenty of arrests and convictions for assault etc. They had no problems.
