I'm a bigger Boxing fan than I am an MMA fan as well, but if you're gonna insult MMA at least try to do so with valid reasoning. They're EXTREMELY well conditioned athletes.Jip wrote: Worst conditions. Bunch if roided stupid bar brawlers who gass in the second round.
Just because MMA ain't your cup of tea is no reason to cut down the fighters who train their asses off and compete in it.

No shit, those guys train 3 or 4 different things a day. It depends on the person, but for me two mi nutes of wrestling was more tiring than 4 rounds of Boxing. Granted, I was better at Boxing and more relaxed but I can't imagine how exhausting doing both would be. Anyway you cut it, calling Wrestlers out of shape slobs is up there for the dumbest comments ever offered on this forum. The Diaz brothers do triathlons for fun.

1 a lot are wrestlers. Lots of muscles. Look like body builders. Being big, having big muscles makes it difficult to have a good condition. Muscle need lots of ocygen
2 they dont train hard
3 they focuse on 1000 different things. Jiu jiutso.karate.muay tay.wrestling. bidy building etc..if you do 1000 different things you cannot be great at 1 thing.
A boxer trains 3 things. 1 condition/stamina 2 boxing technique 3 special exercises to improve power. Because he can focus on 3 main points and not 10 different things he is able to master all 3 with the result of guys like ggg, loma or mikey and many others, who all have great conditions for 12 rds, who all have power and boxing iq. Most mma fighters gass out after 1-2 rds and try to wrestle on the ground or laying on top of each others because they tired

Edit: You're just correct that they train a bunch of different stuff, most all of them are great at one denomination, some at more than one. Even just the minor high school wrestling I did the easiest part of practice was the 3-5 mile run. Then again, I guess we have to bow to the expertise of a kid that can't even do a sit up or pull up. Conditioning expert.

I could see the high-powered promo teams fooling a lot of suckers into buying this circus...probably between 2.75-3 million PPV buys.

Re: How many ppv buys will FMJ/CMG do?
One way for boxing is to look at this charade and explore ways of tapping into the colossal market that obviously exists. With the rise of the superhero movie the demand for action and combat is at all time high.
Sports like chess and cricket have with varying success, experimented with ways to make themselves more commercial. But they don't have the dangerously brutal fascination that boxing does.
Let's face it, we all know that McGregor hasn't any chance on this matchup. He may not even land a single meaningful blow. Yet we still can't help thinking that if he could just land something significant then the whole thing might become a lot more interesting. We know that many skilled boxers had trouble landing a glove on FMWjr, yet Maidana's caveman approach succeeded. Could McGregor do even better?
That is the question, and that is the answer why this fight will easily outstrip Ward v Kovalev. The fact they are global celebrities may just make this the biggest moneymaking fight ever. Of course if boxing could find another Jack Dempsey all the records would be rewritten.
I'm hoping that the Canelo v GGG promotion can exploit all this hullabaloo and present itself as the real alternative. We know the whole world wants Mayweather to get a good hiding, the trouble is that he knows it too.

I don't think this will break the record at all. People tuned in to FM v MP as they genuinely thought it would be competitive - it was an event and a competition. How many casuals will genuinely believe this will be competitive? Not as many I think so I doubt millions will buy just an event.
I'm not even interested in the build up. I'll watch it on youtube later.

The people that will buy this circus attraction are fans of pop culture.
There are way more of those fans than true boxing fans.
The build up will allow this to sell over 3 million easily.

Do a pull up kid. And some free advice, if you're such a painty waif about your obesity, don't offer it up on a forum like you have an ounce of self deprecating humor. I like and respect MMA, reading a tub of goo shit on those athletes that work so hard is irritating. Sue me, sloth.Jip wrote:U started like u always start poo. Because u a negativ person. This will be the hottest ticket in town. All the celebrities will be there. All the people that rarely watch Boxing or MMA will be asking each other about "the fight". It's going to be insane. It actually already is.tiny_acres wrote:

This is a great thread! There should be more topics like this being discussed by this forum.
