Re: Usyk vs. Ward

I want Ward vs Bellew for the heavyweight championship of the world.
Face it... Ward could beat a Heavyweight as inept as John Ruiz -- outbox him every round ... so could 7 or 8 Light Heavyweights.Tarkus wrote:I want Ward vs Bellew for the heavyweight championship of the world.
Yes, Usyk is much bigger, and a little bit better than Ward, and I can not imagine Ward's attempts to hold and wrestle with Usyk, it would be useless. I do not want to think and write about low-blows, I am fed up.....boxing_rocks wrote:Usyk is definitely not better. The question is if is size and power advantage are enough to compensate that. Also, if Ward is allowed to freely punch Usyk's nuts, the outcome will be the same as with Kovalev.
That would require either Bellew or Ward to actually hold a heavyweight championship of the world.Tarkus wrote:I want Ward vs Bellew for the heavyweight championship of the world.
1. I will spend next weekend with Monica Belluci.klitoris wrote:That would require either Bellew or Ward to actually hold a heavyweight championship of the world.Tarkus wrote:I want Ward vs Bellew for the heavyweight championship of the world.
WBA "Regular" or "Interim" straps don't count as real championships.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Certainly far from 0% that Bellew can call himself a Heavyweight champion. For God's sake, Briggs or Oquendo was about to have that honor.
You said a championship, not the. I couldn't care less about any of them. They count them up, bellew could get one same as Charles Martin did.klitoris wrote:WBA "Regular" or "Interim" straps don't count as real championships.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Certainly far from 0% that Bellew can call himself a Heavyweight champion. Of course, don't count....klitoris wrote:WBA "Regular" or "Interim" straps don't count as real championships.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Certainly far from 0% that Bellew can call himself a Heavyweight champion. For God's sake, Briggs or Oquendo was about to have that honor.
I think both of them beat Bellew.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Certainly far from 0% that Bellew can call himself a Heavyweight champion. For God's sake, Briggs or Oquendo was about to have that honor.
Maybe, they're certainly not 100% favorites.boxing_rocks wrote:I think both of them beat Bellew.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Certainly far from 0% that Bellew can call himself a Heavyweight champion. For God's sake, Briggs or Oquendo was about to have that honor.
That's what Ward did at LHW, and that's what I think he will do at CW. He will milk RNS fighting a couple of 200-lb nobodies and only then take on a top CW.Lackeos wrote:Top light heavyweights don't fight top cruiserweights very often, given the 25-pound weight difference. Would be stupid to do unless said light heavyweight starts by fighting intermediate-level competition and catchweights.
If anything, an eye test says that Usyk is worse in every aspect (except punching power and possibly chin), even in punching technique.diddy wrote:Usyk is "better" than Ward? Based on WHAT? Besides blind nationalism of course? You guys have to stop with this crap. He's
Bigger. Surely. Better? Stop with this nonsense. The only reason he could beat Ward is he might just be too big. There's reason there are weight classes. Ward just came up from super middleweight and now you want him fighting guys who will ultimately be heavyweights.
I wouldn't compare him to Floyd. Young Floyd was a killer. Ward has always been a boring one.diddy wrote:These friggin euros are always looking to the "next one" as "the guy". It's funny.
Give Ward his due. You may not like him for your own reasons but he's a marvelous fighter. He's Floyd Mayweather without the outside the ring baggage.
Ward has beaten a who's who of opponents.
My point exactly.ValMar wrote:1. I will spend next weekend with Monica Belluci.klitoris wrote:That would require either Bellew or Ward to actually hold a heavyweight championship of the world.Tarkus wrote:I want Ward vs Bellew for the heavyweight championship of the world.
2. Bellew and Ward will become HW champions.
Possibility = 0
