Totally affect? I do not agree. As you said, people have been waiting for 2 years for this fight...most people haven't been waiting for the Floyd/Conor fight. In fact, I don't know anyone that is excited for it except me. I think it's going to be a fun night. Conor will be entertaining for as long as it lasts and the undercard should be cool with Jack and G. Davis.

I think that it will have a minor effect on PPV buys. If Floyd/Conor stinks and the card considered a waste of money then PPV buys will be a little lower than expected. But if it's a hit? Then I see more PPV buys for Canelo GGG than expected. But minor.
Its naïve to think that a $100 ppv for a shitty fight 3 weeks earlier won't have a dramatic impact on this fight. This will still sell well with Mexicans and Boxing fans, but it will get no casual interest now. They're the ones that are excited.
Well we'll be able to see who is right and wrong by looking at the PPV results then. Prior to Floyd's announcement, Oscar predicted that the fight would do close to 3m buys. It will be interesting to see which fight does more.

Oscar is a freaking moron. No way Canelo GGG does anywhere near 3 million
