I think it's quite sad that Nigel wants to fight again.

Personally think there are too many obstacles which get in the way of the fight happening anyway.

Must be hard seeing your son be a boxer and live that life while you are an old has been.

How could you not be jealous?

I don't think he sees himself as a has been.

I don't see this fight happening.

I doubt they'll get licensed to fight in the UK & I doubt it'll make much money in many other countries & that's afterall is what this is about.

What is it with Benn? First he wanted Eubank..

I remember couple years ago, Frank Bruno wanted to box too..

Thing with Benn is, he looks well and healthy.. he's Hopkins age.

I think that's the problem.

Nigel is 53, but he looks good & he probably looks in the mirror & still thinks it's 1993!

It's his life & body & he's an intelligent guy, so he can do whatever he likes, but for the sake of boxing, I hope this fight does not come off.

If it does come off it will most likely be a reality tv programme similar to the Freddie Flintoff shambles.

The only time i spoke with Benn he hated boxing. Around 1998

The BBBofC are yet to recieve applications from both in regards to licenses. They highly doubt the fight will go ahead..

but if applications are revieved, they will ofcourse take a look.

It's sad to see but the big problem with it is it will probably give others of a similar age
ideas. other old fighters who have not been smart with the £££.
they look fit but are in their fifties and will gas and that's not a good thought
as both will undoubtedly have some power left. i praythey both come through unscathed.

No worse than 90% of white collar fights. Maybe 12oz?

Lets be honest this will go ahead as BIBA/MBC will prob give them the licence as they crave the attention and will use the licensing publjcity to accertain there status as some sort of official body

Conor benn on talksport now, doesnt want his dad to be fighting. Collins was on earlier and is ready.

Incidentially Conors opponent Little has pulled out of his fight with benn for tomorrows fight. Not sure who replaces Little though.

For Benn its about closure.... but Colllins beat him twice before.
It won't be saving face if Collins blots another defeat on Benns record

Collins has always wanted to fight. Didn't he pass out in sparring for Calzaghe and that's why it got pulled?

Yes that's correct,so Eubank stepped in at short notice.

Thought Ben had seemed in a pretty good place with himself and I'm surprised to see this. Absolutely no need for it whatsoever. Would have been great to see a prime Benn v Collins as that would have been epic, but he was clearly past his best by the time they fought, whereas Collins seemed to get better with age. Not sure what this will prove.

Just reading Dirrel-Smith purse bids were a colossal $1.8m. Benn-Wharton was nearly double that 23 years ago. And on ITV. Why can't Eddie win thes bids with Sky backing? What has happened? The way he goes on, Eddie has changed the pay structure! allegedly beat Mickey Duff in that bid. He's a bad purse bidder, unwilling to gamble.

It was embarrasing and Flintoff should never have been licenced. The other boxer, forgot his name had to stop punching so freddie could win. But thats money and tv for you.

Dirrell v Smith is off isn't it?

If you look at Benn interviews post retirement 1997 - 2000s when asked if he misses boxing, he says he's "too old for all that" I'm an old man now" Those interviews were given when he was in his 30s and 40s. Why does he now say different.

I think it is to do with the all attention his son is getting now TBH. Wants a bit himself.
