Was never a fan of Nelson as a commentator but seen him on that ifl afew times and he was quite honest and laid into afew people in the boxing community which was great. I don't watch boxing through sky anymore, so don't know how he still commentates. Does he give his own honest opinion or does he just tow the sky bandwagon?

Bellew: Noone gave me a chance against Haye but I've done it. Floyd is getting smashed. Simple as that!

Nelson: Floyd is still relatively fresh. Take me for example, I am 50 and I can still beat Marco Huck. He didn't want it.

Froch: It depends if Floyd still has a hunger, if he still can get up at 4 am and do the runs, chop down few trees. If I still had a desire and a nose I would come back and knock out Callum Smith in front of 85000.

Eddie: This shows Mayweather is still the biggest draw in boxing, so we still have some work to do, hehe. I spoke to Al and helped negotiating this fight on behalf of Sky.

I understand why they do it but I don't talk bollocks to get on in my job so I feel justified in calling others who do.

I actually think Bellew will slate the event. I'm not Tony's biggest fan at all but he doesn't strike me as some to "tow the company line"

I dont think so. He himself become a circus act recently, so how can he slate others. And he will have to say, ye but nobody expected me to beat Haye either.

It will depend if they are showing the fight or not. If they get it everyone will be told to get behind it and talk it up. If they don't get it they will probably ignore it completely.

Sky's boxing pundits have seemingly turned en masse into cheerleading media trained monkeys over the last few years and it's fvcking awful to see. I can understand the likes of Nelson and Moore and Barker et al sticking to the company script because frankly they need the money but to see Froch behave likewise upsets me. He is financially secure and doesn't need the cash.

One day in the mid-late 2000s they just started with a relentless focus on positivity. Clearly they were no longer allowed to criticise their product.

I think in general they are fit , BUT punch fit is different , , unless they have got a boxing background and done a lot of boxing , they will wear out quickly , until they learn to move and punch , and breath correctly , not punching through stiff arms , once they can relax , yeh it will work for them , but generaly there fitness level is high , you train for what you do

Credit where it's due MMA men are obviously fit & healthy men but nowhere near as fighting fit as boxers

The conditioning for the two sports is very different and both sports are clearly more demanding than most but boxers are fitter Johnny needs to go & lay himself down in a dark room and have a think, coming out with silly talk like that

I think people probably tire doing what they're not used to. As coneye said, MMA fighters are stiff when they punch and mostly uncomfortable on the feet so they'll burn energy more easily. Put a boxer on the ground where he's uncomfortable and doesn't know how to use his energy efficiently and it'd be much the same imo.
