I think Fwank, if faced with the choice of charging PPV over and above the £12 subscription for this fight or just passing on the fight, should pass on the fight. He's chosen a subscription based model and he collects the £12 even in quiet months when there's little or nothing on. He can't really have the best of both worlds - subscription, and PPV, that would be biting the hand that feeds you. If the sums don't add up, then pass on the fight, fans will see it some other way.

Sounds to me like your mate pays for a paid IPTV subscription basically he's just watching streams but someone or a group of people run it so you just click on a link say skysports one and then instantly you will be streaming sky sports one is a lot better than in the past when you had to go through sites trying to block adverts ect. They will also get all the PPV and different channels from across the world. Not 100% sure but think it's not illegal for you to view it but is for the people that host it I could be wrong as it might of changed recently also sky and virgin are trying hard to stop these though.

I chucked Sky in over 2 years ago , I stream everything and its £50 a year. My Sky bill was £130 a month with BN and multi room. I have never looked back. The streams have worked perfect, never had any issues what so ever.

Its 100% legal to stream the content because you are not downloading anything and the stream files are only stored in your temporary internet folder .

I would never sign up for Sky TV again, complete con artists.

Mine is about £50 as well also never had any problems with it. All the channels you can get with the top sky package plus movies that are not even released yet and all the PPV in crystal clear HD with no buffering

thanks for the info ,that sounds like the deal. he reckons he gets a code from samsung to enter into the tv .will have to look at getting one as long as it is legit and not likely to be stopped in the near future. i have mates with various boxes plugged in and they are temperamental to say the least. if i am watching a live event it would not be good for my health or the telly if it cut out out so i have stuck to paying virgin .my wife went a bit daft when a laptop went through a window previously, she would go mental if it was a big telly . we have haggled them down a fair bit. i don't get sky sports but get eurosport for moto gp and allegedly for the boxing and have 4 boxes in various rooms around the house. the wifi is crap upstairs though.

I have BN and I'll cancel if I have to pay ppv on top I get it's a big fight but it used to have all the Mayweather fights and Manny Pacquiao as well so why now PPV .

Me too. Surely BN won't risk alienating hardcore fans and longterm subscribers over this event? It would be crazy. Sky doesn't need the hardcore boxing fans, but BN certainly does.

It's taking them a long time to confirm ? It was announcement shortly....then Monday....then delayed again.

My thoughts are those who subscribe directly to B0xnati0n on the SKY platform will get the PPV shows at no additional cost. Those who get the channel via the BT Sports pack or Virgin Media will be asked to pay extra. It's all about the T&C's and who your TV channel provider is.

Whilst customers might not agree, the fact of the matter is if you watch B0xnati0n via the BT Sports pack or on Virgin Media you aren't actually a B0xnati0n customer. BT and Virgin Media are actually classed the customers through their wholesale agreement with B0xnati0n. They in turn are selling the channel to their customers. Your money isn't going directly to B0xnati0n.

I think its logistics that's holding things up. B0xnati0n will need to launch a PPV facility on BT, Virgin Media and Talk Talk and decide what to charge. They also need to decide how it'll work on SKY. B0xnati0n HD is their PPV channel on the SKY platform. Those who subscribe to B0xnati0n directly current get access to this channel for their live events. Those who subscribe via the BT Sports pack do not get the B0xnati0n HD channel included. This for me is telling. Hopefully they're working on how current customers can access the PPV at no additional cost.

Fingers crossed for me this is the case, as this is what I have done.... but if they do threaten to charge me extra for this fight - I will be fuming and expect a cancelled subscription.

I hope they do offer it on Non HD as well as HD as it eats so much Sky memory on HD.
