If Damon Hague gets the nod it would be a doddle to fix up as he's often on Hennessy shows these days.

How about Wayne Pinder? He was asking for work a few weeks back in Boxing News.

pinder'd take the fight, but - with all due respect to wayne - i'm not sure he really deserves a shot at the british super-middleweight title. he's not the biggest at 160 and froch would probably just be too strong for him.

But Damon Hague occurred to me too.
yeah, doran's going for one of these meaningless alphabet titles against andy halder, who'd've been another potential opponent. imo, hague would be good - not the grudge match the dodson fight was shaping into, but hague would be a nice test for froch. let's hope he gets the call, cuz there's no-one much else available and some european nobody could well signal the death knell for froch's tv exposure
Froch would PLAY with Hague without any doubt it would be a mismatch and plus Ingles wouldnt take it they protect there fighters with every thing they can

Got to agree with that, i like Hague he's tough and i'm not Carl's biggest fan but that's a poor match. Froch would take him apart comfortably, far,far too much class and pedigree.
Barney would be better but i hope Froch has been doing his roadwork cause he'd be running a marathon trying to catch the bugger!!

Damon Hague was my first thought, it could happen, as Damon himself oftens informs us "God can move mountains my friend" so i am sure with a bit of divine intervention he could help Hennessy perform a miracle and put this fight on.

If Otis Grant gets the nod then I think we have a tougher fight for Froch than the original match up. No disrespect intended to Tony, as I have said before I think Froch vs Dodson was 50:50. However, the reports I have read on Grant is that he is fighting well and I would tip to beat Froch quite comfortably.

Grant is still a world class fighter.
