The criminal act is not filing, owing isn't a crime. They can take your money and belongings, but just owing won't land you in jail.

Floyd? He lives in Vegas. You're thinking of Florida. Neither has state taxes so properly taxes are very high.

That doesn't mean you wouldn't get randomly flagged, but they're much more concerned with the wealthy not filling and combing their returns. As for penalties, you can't listen to the radio without a commercial for an attorney settling Tax debts for pennies on the dollar. The easiest way to break it down is that it's a gigantic money conglomeration and they are only concerned with giant sums of money. That's federally, the states will gauge anyone. Much tougher dealings there.

good information & interesting
Very interesting indeed , here in Aust they will go the smaller fella , , and shy away from the multi national companies , count the pennys and they turn into pounds scenario , and a lot easier than fighting Kerry Packer and the like

Absolutely, I used to live in Florida and our property taxes went from $3,000 to $9,000 in one year.

Honestly, who cares?
I'm with you.

If Floyd wants to spunk money around like it's going out of fashion, then end up with tax issues, that's his problem. No reason for me to be interested in Floyd's monetary concerns. I'm not his accountant, I'm not a family member dependent on his money. Floyd can wipe his backside with banknotes for all I care. It's his stupidity. Don't affect me.
