I think Indongos speed is being overrated on account of him looking rather athletic next to Burns, whose legs have basically gone. I don't think he'll look fast and athletic next to Crawford

I think that it will be a better fight than both Hitman Jr and The Indongo v Burns were. The Indongo is less skilled than Postol but he has decent skills and far more dramatic pop, IMO.
Certainly, Hitman Jr should outclass The Indongo but I do not think that it will be a whitewash.

Me either, he's going to get brutalized.

Crawford is a skill mix of Mayweather + Pacquiao, to not say the only superb ambidextrous stance skill boxer since Hagler. He surely will make a great mark at 147 but won't be easy. It is the most prestigious weight class in boxing with most ascending boxers on it. He will have at least 50% more difficult opponents. I see him losing maximum 1 bout there.

Crawford vs. Spence is like the rebirth of Leonard vs. Hearns, would be a spectacular and special event when it happens.
Seems the clash is inevitable, as even Spence himself has been mentioning Crawford alot lately, a fight with Thurman would also be a great clash too.
That said, as good as both Spence and Thurman is, Crawford is something special and was born to be a boxer, not just a fighter.
I slightly favor Crawford against Thurman, Spence is a 50/50 fight though.
Crawford will have to change a little once he gets to welterweight though, he can't keep getting into the same firefights all the time at 147 like he does at 140.

I think Crawford would beat Thurman up. I don't expect we'll ever see him fight Keith or Errol. Though Spence is the type that might force Al's hand at some point.

Rising super lightweight star Josh Taylor is the real danger to Garcia if Crawford moves up.

Danny Garcia split with Crawford in the amateurs, so no easy fight.
Thurman is a tough fight too..nearly 50/50. Edge to Crawford.
Crawford isn't big, but has skills up the ying yang. I would say Spence beats him, and close fights with DG and KT. He beats Porter easy like his last opponent.....same style.
Eh, a lateral mover is the exact fighter to give Spence loads of problems. Crawford by decision, probably easy, but Spence would likely move up too soon even if there weren't politics blocking the fight.

The same reason why they think Mikey Garcia is "small". Most people think only in terms of weight of registered weightclass.

Garcia splitting with Crawford in the amateurs doesn't mean it wouldn't be an easy fight. Would Sadam Ali also give Crawford a tough one? Would 177th ranked David Grayton beat Spence?

Agree...I think he can improve on the success Brook had. Spence is very strong though and could get to him eventually...

Spence is still relatively inexperienced compared to Crawford. Give him another 2-4 top-level bouts and it will be a pick-em matchup!!

Those guys give him problems:
Brook, very athletic, got sihe reach on crawford. Good footwork. Too much for tc.
Spence & thurman, both much bigger, very powerful puncher. They would both not only beat skinny crawford but tko him.
Garcia & porter, again the size factor. Danny would be a close fighter. Porter rushes threw crawford.

You obviously dont think very highly of Terence Crawford do you?
Have you got him losing to Indongo as well? That would eliminate any reason for him to move up to 147.

Does anyone give him trouble at 147? Looking at the BoxRec top 10.
1. Jeff Horn - Will be exposed by first non-past prime top WW he faces. Not budging on my assessment of him as shite. TC KO.
2. Keith Thurman - Top guy at WW. Proven himself vs Porter and Garcia but also showed that he's not "elite" imo. Bud too smart. TC 116-112.
3. Manny Pacquiao - On the slide. Fight should have happened 12-18 months ago. TC dominant UD.
4. Danny Garcia - Doesn't have anything to trouble Crawford stylistically. TC wide UD.
5. Errol Spence Jr - Best chance imo. Maybe only chance. Young, strong, powerful, takes a shot, good body puncher. Biggest guy at the weight. Hasn't reached potential. Crawford razor close decision.
6. Shawn Porter - The shorter, aggressive Gamboa gave Crawford a few problems. Porter is a tough night for anyone but would expect Crawford to box well enough to win UD. TC 116-112.
7. Lamont Peterson - Very good at 140 but B-level at 147. Possibly good "introductory" fight at WW for Crawford. TC mid-rd KO.
8. Jessie Vargas - Outboxed by Bradley and Pac. Doesn't have skills to outbox Bud or power to stop him. TC late KO.
9. Adrien Broner - Will probably be ranked at 140 after the Garcia fight. Crawford would beat him up at any weight. TC late KO.
10. Sam Eggington - Bradley Skeete boxed his ears off. Made improvements but not to elite level. TC mid-rd KO.
There's my views. Crawford can run through the majority of Welterweights. Porter would be physically tough. Thurman would hang with him but Crawford has extra gears. Spence, like Crawford, is a special talent. Spence has the physical advantages, Bud has the mental edge, could go either way.
It's official, Crawford is the future p4p #1. Then he can fill out and whoop everyone at 154 as well.
This kind of recommendation is impossible to make without seeing TC in action with a legitimate 147 pounder. One that will rehydrate as much as he's able to do after each of his fights. People do not mention it much but TC has brought in significant weight advantages in most of his fights so far. What happens when he gets in there with a legit WW that is weighing 162-167 on fight night? The jump from 140 to 147 is a nightmare in today's boxing landscape because there's so many talented WW's.
With that said...I'll play the game and say that I'd see TC's hand get raised over everyone but Thurman. Spence will be a tough victory but I see that fight as a highly technical skill fight and right now, I think Crawford's speed and toolbox is too vast for Spence. Thurman, in my opinion, is the most underrated boxer in the world right now. Again, IMO, he deserves a lot more credit for how much he outclassed Garcia and Porter in his last 2 fights. From the very start of those fights, Thurman was in charge and remained in control like great fighters of the past for 12 rounds. I'm not a Thurman fan but he's winning me over....I was rooting against him in both of his last fights but he just impressed the hell out of me. He's the toughest to beat at 147 clearly IMO and I think that he manhandles TC and knocks him out if they ever get together inside the ring. I hope that we see it.

If he's smart he tries to take on Spence sooner rather than later. The one edge that Crawford might have right now is the fact that Spence is more green and inexperienced than him. It won't take long for Spence defending his title for that possible advantage to disappear.
Arum and haymon won't work together for that fight. While it's arguably the best match up in the sport, it's not a money fight. I doubt it ever happens.
Arum and Haymon have an established working relationship, so there's no longer a "cold war" between both parties. Simply put: Arum and Haymon do actually work together.
The only thing that deters Top Rank from matching their own guys against opponents from the PBC stable of fighters, is the fact that Haymon pays his men quite well, so their purse expectations are quite high... and Bob Arum won't produce events that aren't profitable.
The exception to this rule is Mikey Garcia, because he apparently burned bridges with Top Rank when he left that promotion. So I don't expect to see him face the likes of Crawford and Lomachenko anytime soon.

I'd take Spence over Crawford right now. Thurman/Crawford would be fun. I think it would be a lot more competitive than probably most think. I have Crawford winning a close but unanimous decision.
