It is humorous that people insist that 3G is in serious decline based on the Brook and Jacobs performances. Brook and Jacobs are top shelf boxers. He defeated both, clearly. He did not get Jacobs out of there.
Might that be why Team GingerHead is giving him the fight at this point, along with the fact the Mexican's reputation has been suffering a severe beatdown?
I think that 3G was finally revealed to be beatable in the Jacob's fight, to his worshippers. It was still a masterful performance, given the level of competition. 3G has always been beatable, but it will take a great effort to achieve it.
Jacobs best effort fell a bit short.
Good post!

I really think that GGG was on his way to rolling over Jacobs early in the fight and everything changed when Jacobs switched over to Southpaw. GGG was dumbfounded for some reason when that happened. GGG's jab suddenly stayed in the holster and Jacobs appeared to have a better look at what was coming from that stance. But had Jacobs not switched it up, he'd never had made it out of that fight...heck, he barely made it out as it was. When that bell rang, Jacobs just folded into the ropes like he had not an ounce left.

Yup, Jacobs had a good game plan but GGG was the better prepared fighter.
