Hard to tell as we've not seen how he can handle himself in a boxing ring. One things for sure, nobody anywhere near that weight could trump him on confidence. I think the guy genuinely believes he's gonna spark Floyd. He's in for a rude awakening come Saturday but I can't help but admire the guys confidence.

Yes lads, and to all that thinks its comical, Eggington vs the Mayweather in your heads has virtually no chance. If you can give me an example of a great boxer coming back after two years out and being the same then please provide. Ali vs Holmes? Louis vs Marciano? Hatton vs no neck russian whos name escapes me. You dont beat father time, nobody does. Does that mean Mcgregor or Eggington beats this 40 yr retired Mayweather? Of course not, but you should expect to see a diminished Mayweather Saturday night.

At 30 years old Sugar Ray beat Hagler.

At 40 years old he was brutalised by Camacho.

I know I am taking this piss a bit but does McGregor have as much chance as Butterbean did against Larry Holmes? Larry was many, many years past it but still had enough boxing ability to beat Butterbean. Mayweather is closer to his best than Larry was that night so should not have much trouble against a novice like McGregor.

that would imply he would win roughly once in every 6.5 fights. Not sure i'd even give Brook as much of a chance.

Yeah, a forty year old Mayweather is clearly a different beast than Leonard at 40. He hadn't fought in about five years and as you may was allegedly a fan of the nose candy. Mayweather, despite his taste for things has never seemed out of shape. Plus, MCGregor isn't Camacho, the more I watch his MMA fights too the less I'm believing in this special boxing ability he allegedly possesses. The Aldo knockdown was impressive but Mayweather isn't going to steam in square up face first and eat that shot, he didn't even knock Aldo out cold with it or with the two flush hammer shots he landed, and it was absolutely flush with 4oz gloves so I'm suspect of this special power he possesses. I genuinely doubt he hits anything like as hard as fighters like Mosley did.

But you only have to go back two months, an all time great now shadow of himself getting beat by a school teacher from Brisbane!!

Probably anyone half decent would beat him hence the reason why he dident risk even one single tune up match first. If he had, everyone would have seen he shouldn't be in the ring with Mayweather

Yes, Senchenko was a decent EBU level fighter and a pretty good amateur too.

I get the point about Hatton not being the same fighter, and surely a prime version was better than Senchenko, but Ricky was also out for about twice as long as Mayweather has been, and I don't think his style or lack of discipline between fights lent themselves as well to a ring return.

Would Conor even outmatch the top kickboxers in the hands department? It's been a while since I followed kickboxing, but what reasons are there to believe that he's any more of a danger to Floyd than Albert Kraus, Masato, or John Wayne Parr would've been?

Keep in mind that these fighters were beating up other top strikers, and not guys who are primarily grapplers.

I cant believe im defending Mcgregor tbh. All im saying is its very dangerous to compare Mayweather of yesteryear with Mayweather of Saturday, that Mayweather wont be there. Hes a lower weight reflex fighter, they dont last like a George Foreman, they fade very quickly.

You've seen, what, about 10 seconds of selectively publicized sparring footage? Or is there more out there now?
